webampl Training February 2017
Aerospace Approved Manufacturer Parts List (AMPL) What is it? The AMPL is a database that manages the approved relationship between Honeywell Part Numbers and Manufacturer Name & Manufacturer Part Numbers. The primary purpose of AMPL data is to enable robust component obsolescence and product change detection process. Communication of approved sources to ISC /Suppliers/Distributors/Contract Manufacturers is through the webampl application. Refer to the Supplemental Purchase Order Conditions (SPOC 1.10.1) Manual for specific site requirements. The webampl application on the Honeywell Supplier Portal, provides access to this information for sourcing purposes. 2 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
webampl Assumptions Parts listed on the AMPL are approved for procurement only if the site is listed in the SPOC. It is the user s / supplier s responsibility to only use data from the correct Honeywell location designated in the AMPL Vault Name dropdown selection of the tool. If there is a doubt as to which vault to use, contact your Honeywell buyer for guidance if needed. 3 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL

Searching by Part Numbers Type or paste in required Honeywell Part Numbers into the left textbox. As mentioned in the webampl assumptions, and to limit the data returned, suppliers should choose the appropriate AMPL Vault Name. Note: While you can look for a large amount of parts in a single search (e.g., 30,000+ records), only results that are less than 30,000 rows of data can be exported at one time. 12 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Searching by Manufacturer Name The results can be filtered to show only values for a certain manufacturer name. After getting the results, enter a value in the Manufacturer Name Filter field and then click the SEARCH button. Records that do not have a match for that manufacturer name will have a part not found note in the OMS Case Flag field. These records can then be filtered out during an export of the file. Results can be also filtered by date of last change (select from Last Changed dropdown). Note: If a manufacturer name is entered without any part numbers, it will result in the error shown below. 13 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Show / Hide Functions The Show Functions button allows you to use wildcards (i.e. asterisks) to improve your searching capabilities. Click on the Hide Functions button to minimize that part of the screen after use. With all parts numbers and filters in place, click the SEARCH button. Alternatively, if you just want to find history records for the parts, press the Search History button instead of SEARCH. 14 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Search History Results Screen This is the results screen and columns given for Search History. 15 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Search Results Screen This is the results screen for the regular search. Scroll to see additional details about the parts. Note: There is a Last Data Snapshot date which will display on your results. The data snapshot is refreshed daily. 16 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Display History of Changes To see the history of changes, click on the link in the Last Changed column. 17 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Authorized Sources The use of Authorized Sources (e.g., Franchised or Authorized Distributors) is preferred to reduce the risk of procuring counterfeit parts. Click the Manufacturer Name hyperlink to see details on available authorized sources. 18 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Sorting By default, parts returned will be sorted by Honeywell PN, then by AMPL Vault Name. Items can be sorted by a specific column by clicking on the field name. The arrow shows the direction of the sort. If the upward arrow is displayed, the column will be sorted by lowest value first (e.g., 0 or A), and if the downward arrow is displayed, the column will be sorted by highest value first (e.g., 9 or Z). 19 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Descriptions and Notes If a field has an incomplete description or note, you can hover over the field to see additional details. The full note will also be shown in the mouseover. 20 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Alteration Type If a record has a hyperlink value in the Alteration Type field, you can click on the link to see the unaltered or make from parts. 21 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Alteration Type Field Values The Honeywell Part Alteration Types available are: Altered A COTS part that is modified in any way from the original part. Programmed The part has been programmed to do some task (e.g., EPROM, PLD, FPGA). Selected Screened for a particular attribute(s). XREF_1Way Also known as an autosub or crossover part. One Honeywell part number cross references to another Honeywell part number. The secondary part number will have the manufacturer part number information. These parts will have a manufacturer name of Honeywell Cross Reference. The secondary part must be in the AMPL. XREF_2Way Also known as an autosub or crossover part. One Honeywell part number cross references to another Honeywell part number. The part numbers can point at each other. Note: For Altered, Selected, and Programmed parts, refer to the Honeywell drawing for the alteration requirements. 22 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Controlling Document Type Field The Controlling Document Type field has replaced the former Part Type (e.g., COTS, Custom) field. This field displays the type of drawing of a given part number. It is intended to be compliant with ASME Y14.100-2000 to indicate level of requirements that part must satisfy. There are still some generic drawing types (such as Drawing Print) listed that will not provide the granularity needed. In these cases, the drawing itself must be consulted to determine the drawing type. 23 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Part Category Part Category is a reference field that indicates the general type of the part or assembly. A blank in this field means that the part has not been categorized. Electrical Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) component: Electrical or electronic devices which are not subject to disassembly without destruction or impairment of design use, and primary function is to conduct electricity and/or performs action depending on input electrical attribute (e.g., voltage, current). These are also called EEE components, parts, or piece parts. Examples are resistors, capacitors, diodes, integrated circuits, fuses, connectors, switches, etc. Electronic components include electro/optical devices. For the purposes of webampl, connector, relay, and switch accessories (backshells, guidepins, mounting hardware, etc.) are also categorized as electrical. Mechanical Mechanical Component: Piece parts which are not subject disassembly without destruction or impairment of design use, whose primary function is purely mechanical: to hold something (screws, nuts), retain distance (stand offs, washers), support movement (bearings, bushings), or perform other mechanical function. 24 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
Part Category cont. Assembly Electrical A combination of electrical components and possibly mechanical components, materials, and chemicals, for example, memory cards, displays, power supplies, cable assemblies, etc. Assembly Mechanical A combination of mechanical components, and possibly materials and chemicals, not containing any electrical components, for example, chassis, card wedgelock, gear box, etc. Chemical A form of matter that has constant chemical composition and characteristic properties which cannot be separated into components by physical separation methods, i.e., without breaking chemical bonds. It can be solid, liquid, gas, or plasma. It can be element, compound, or mixture of elements and/or compounds. Chemicals are usually listed without specific quantity ( AS REQUIRED ) on an engineering Bill of Materials. Examples are paint, epoxy, flux, solvent, conformal coat, ink, etc. Powders are included in the chemical category. 25 HONEYWELL - CONFIDENTIAL
