How they work The radiator construction means that they have a virtually unlimited life expectancy. They re also built with the latest technologies for heat conservation, and their heat distribution capability is extremely efficient. The fluted design of the radiators dramatically increases their surface area for greater heat distribution. Within each radiator, there are up to twenty independent blocks which heat up almost immediately, but cool down very slowly thereafter, acting as a lasting heat source. Once a room reaches your desired temperature, the thermostat automatically turns the radiator off, but the efficient design ensures that heat is retained for much longer, meaning that the room temperature doesn't plummet as it does with other types of heating systems. The overall design of Heizen radiators is based on three distinct heat principles: During the heat cycle, some of the heat is stored in the blocks. Warmth is supplied to the body of the heaters by clay cores, and then radiated into the room through the flutes. Cool air is attracted into the flutes from floor level and reintroduced as warm air through the flutes. The advantage for you is that the radiator only needs to use power for a short period of time, and then the stored heat keeps the room at the required temperature for longer. They are a perfect replacement for oldstyle storage heaters, or they can be used individually without affecting existing heating systems. Are the electric radiators portable? Yes, the radiators can be used on legs or castors, or they can be wall mounted. I need to replace my storage heaters. Can you help? Yes, of course we can! Our products are ideally suited for replacing storage heaters. If your storage heaters are nearing the end of their life, or if you simply want a more efficient way to heat your home, Heizen s range of electric radiators is the way to go. Are these electric radiators the same as storage heaters? No, they re different. Storage heaters store up heat during the night, and then release it during the day. These radiators are electric heaters that provide heat when they re switched on, just like central heating. Will I save money on my heating bill? These electric radiators are highly energy efficient, they heat up quickly and they retain heat for a long time, so they give you more warmth for every pound you spend. Can I choose the colour? Yes. Available in a variety of colours How many radiators will I need? There s no simple formula, really. The answer depends on a number of factors including room size, ventilation, and the materials used in floors and walls. We can help you through the process of determining what you will require. Can you install my radiators? Yes, absolutely! We can supply only, or we can supply and install them for you, whatever you prefer. All of our products are quick and easy to install and they can be plugged into a standard 13A domestic socket, or installed into an existing circuit. Are your products guaranteed? Yes, all of our radiators are guaranteed for a period of 10 years. They re subject to our warranty terms and conditions, which are available on request. We even provide a two-year guarantee on the thermostats. How long until my order is delivered? We keep most radiators in stock so that we can deliver immediately. Guidelines In order to efficiently heat any room, there are some things that you should consider when you re choosing electric radiators. The benefits: Clean, effective and simple to operate No boiler, plumbing or pipework required Fully controllable on a room by room basis Can be wall mounted, on casters or on feet Can be plugged into a 13amp socket or mains-connected Come with a 10 year guarantee and are maintenance free First, of course, you ll need to know the size and number of radiators that you ll need. You need to consider where the radiator will go, and ensure that it will fit into the space you have available. During this process, the output of the radiator should be considered so that it s providing the optimum amount of heat for the electricity being used. The radiator size, wattage and quantity will primarily depend on the size of the room (including the height of the ceiling), as well as how well insulated the room is. Other factors include whether the room has cavity wall insulation, whether the windows are double glazed, the number of doors in the room, and whether there are any issues with draughts. Generally speaking, newer properties are more well-insulated than older properties. Every heating situation is unique, and should be treated individually, but this information should give you an idea of things to consider when you re choosing an electric radiator.
