Moving forward Commission to: Adopt an Urban Mobility Package in 2013 Package consists of a Communication and a proposal for EU framework for Urban Mobility Plans (Directive or Guidelines) Content of Urban Mobility Plan will cover logistics and access restriction schemes (initiatives 32/33 of White Paper) In order to prepare the Urban Mobility Package: Launch Public Consultation ("Questionnaire") Impact Assessment for considered policy options ("Study")

Focus on Urban Mobility Plans Aim is a transformation to clean urban transport and commuting in cities Cities need to develop integrated strategies for passenger and freight transport, and Urban Mobility Plans to underpin their implementation EU framework would establish common rules and minimum criteria regarding content and methodology of such a plan (Potential) Conditionality: link access to structural and cohesion funds to cities and regions with certificated Urban Mobility Plans

Timetable 7 September 2012: Closure of Stakeholder Consultation 17 September (-10 December)2012: High level Urban Mobility Conference and launch of Public Consultation Autumn 2012: Launch Study to prepare the Impact Assessment February 2013: Final report Evaluation Study of Action Plan on Urban Mobility and possible follow-up of actions Mid 2013: Adoption of Urban Mobility Package

Thematic Objectives Specific openings for mobility measures TO 4: Low carbon economy Promoting low carbon strategies in urban areas TO 7: Removing bottlenecks developing environment-friendly and low-carbon transport systems and promoting sustainable urban mobility Community Strategic Guidelines innovative road pricing, user charging systems and traffic management, and in fuelling and charging infrastructure for new carbon-free vehicles for urban transport; integrated, sustainable and accessible urban mobility concepts in cities, city-regions and metropolitan areas, leading to reduced GHG emissions, in particular through sustainable urban transport plans, including facilitating use of public transport, cycling and walking; Cohesion Policy 16

Story 3 : PIMMS Capital The culmination of more that 2 years of networking and exchange built on a core of experience generated through INTERREG C Focussing on capitalisation putting good practices into action "not reinventing the wheel but adapting it" Preparing action plans to ensure sustainable mobility, expoliting existing infrastructure by intelligent use of soft measures and innovative solutions Preparing for the next programming period.
