REFRIGERATION Water Filter Warranty MARKETS: USA MODELS: E522B, RF201A General Bulletin The disclaimer below regarding the warranty of the water filters is being added to all Ice and Water products. Water Filter Information The rate of water flow through the water dispenser can slow down as the filter cartridge accumulates any sediment that may be present in the water supplied to your home. This varies depending upon your local water quality, which may require your filter cartridge to be changed more frequently. In cases of excessively reduced filter life, we recommend that you consult a local plumber or your water supplier for advice on suitable filtration requirements for the water supplied to your home. Filter replacement is the customer s responsibility and is excluded from the Manufacturer s warranty, except in the case of faulty parts or materials within the filter cartridge. If the water has not been dispensed for some time or water has an unpleasant taste or odour, flush system by dispensing 3L (3qt) of water. If the unpleasant taste or odour persists, you may wish to fit a new filter cartridge. REFRIGERATION Dispenser Faults MARKETS: USA MODELS: E522B, RF201A Service Bulletin Additional fault codes 32, 33 and 34 have been added to the display on all Ice & Water products. The fault codes have been added to detect leaks and/or continual water flowing from the dispenser. Previous to these changes the software only counted water flow when the water solenoid was on. The new version software (V1.067) now counts water flow whether the water solenoid is on or off. The first time this fault is detected there are two possible scenarios of how the customer/user will see it happen. Possibility 1 (Fault code 32 = water continues for 5 seconds after the glass is removed): 1. Water is dispensed by the user. 2. Then the glass/cup is removed. 3. Water continues to dispense for 5 seconds. 4. A Fault code is detected. 5. Water then stops. 6. After a period of 15 seconds, the display will show the customer/user what the fault code is. Possibility 2 (Fault code 33 = water stops then starts over a period of 10 seconds after the glass is removed): 1. Water is dispensed by the user. 2. Then the glass/cup is removed. 3. Water stops. 4. Fault is detected 5 seconds after the cup is removed. 5. Water starts again for 5 seconds, then stops. 6. After a period of 15 seconds, the display will show the user what the fault code is. If both solenoid drivers fail and/or the water valve fails (Fault Code 34): 1. Water is dispensed by the user. 2. Then the glass/cup is removed. 3. Water continues to dispense until the water supply is turned off at the tap. 4. Fault is detected. 5. After a period of 15 seconds, the display will show the fault code. Should any of these faults occur, check the resistance of the water solenoid and replace the water solenoid if out of limits. If the water solenoid is replaced, it is also suggested that the display module is replaced as well. If the water solenoid is OK: Replace the display module. After replacing the display module, check the water dispenser to ensure that the fault has been rectified. For other faults to the ice maker: Replace the icemaker PCB (attached to the control module) on E522B models. Replace the control module on RF201A models. Note The dispenser dripping 10mls of water within 5 seconds after the dispenser switch is open, can also activate the fault codes above. This may be due to one of the following: Air within the water tank of the refrigerator. Air within the mains water supply system. Air being introduced by a poor water coupling between the solenoid valve and the customer s water supply tank. Example - A household water pressure pump system with a poor water pipe coupling can introduce air into the water line supplying the refrigerator solenoid. Page 2 of 2 S-FRFD-08-03
IMPORTANT: Please read this bulletin and pass on to others in your Service Bulletin FREESTANDING PATIO HEATER Service Kit for Patio Heater Shutting Off MARKETS: MODELS: USA only PHFS-P4 LP, PHFS-P4 NG PROBLEM: The Patio Heater will light correctly but will shut off between 10-40 minutes. The pilot flame, which keeps the thermocouple hot, will start to reduce in size. Over time it will eventually get so small that it cannot keep the thermocouple hot enough and will cause the unit to shut off. Once it has cooled down the pilot can be relit. This condition may persist until corrected. SOLUTION: The corrective repair is to replace the complete head assembly, part number: - 243014 Replacement kit, head assy. LP 243015 Replacement kit, head assy. Nat. Before ordering the replacement kit, there are visual checks that must to be made on the existing heater head assembly to ensure that the replacement kit is needed: 1. On the pilot assembly, check if there is a Pilot Standoff Bracket installed. (Fig. 01) 2. On the main control gas valve, check for a locating pin in the valve shaft on front face of valve. (Fig.02) Pilot Standoff Bracket Old Valve New Valve Location Pin Fig. 01 Fig. 02 If the two above components are present, the heater head has been up-dated and the replacement kit is not needed. Altitude: When replacing head assemblies above 3,000 Ft. altitudes, use the chart in CBW to find the correct conversion kit. Note: A copy of the instruction sheet that accompanies the kit giving details on fitting the kit and for the return of the old part and for claiming re-imbursement is attached.
