Page 29 3BE390583NI 07/07 2. INSTALLATION: GENERALITIES NATURE AND POSITION OF CONNECTIONS See "Technical characteristics" at the beginning of these instructions. 2.1 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS A qualified engineer must carry out the installation, modification or repair of the appliance in a workmanlike manner. These appliances must be installed with sufficient ventilation to prevent the formation of excessive concentrations of substances noxious for the health in the room in which they are installed. The appliance is of TYPE A (not connected to an exhaust duct for combustion products gas appliance). The equipment is not designed to work in an explosive atmosphere. Due to this, it must not be installed in a zone subject to ATEX directive. The required flow rate of new air for combustion is 2 m 3 /h per kw of heat release rate (gas appliance). These units must only be placed against a wall or a partition. The latter must be of non-combustible materials or, if not, must be covered with an appropriate, good insulating and non-combustible material. The manufacturer certifies that the packaging meets the provision 94/62/CE (provision relating to packagings and packaging waste of 12.20.94) and requests that final installer (and user) observes the rules relating to the removal of the packaging (recycling or reconditioning). In case of equipment on a masonry base (see section "Assembly of equipment on masonry base"), all precautions must be taken by the installer to avoid skidding and dropping of the equipment. In case of mobile equipment, never handle the fryer with oil in the tank: oil must be previously drained. In case of mobile equipment, always handle equipment with precaution to avoid tilting it. Warning! Gas fryers are equipped with a polarised electronic flame control box. When connecting electricity, check that the neutral line is properly connected to the neutral terminal and the phase to the phase. 2.2 HANDLING The appliance should only be handled with adapted lifting equipment. Should the appliance need to be transported, this must be on its original pallet and it must not be stacked on other appliances under any circumstances. If the appliance is to be moved without its pallet, it should be carried and not pulled. 2.3 UNPACKING Before installation, remove the strapping from the appliance. The individual parts are not bolted down. Remove the protective plastic film from the stainless steel parts before heating.

Page 30 3BE390583NI 07/07 2.4 ACCESS TO THE COMPONENTS PLACED BEHIND THE FASCIA - Loosen the fixation screws of the control knobs (gas, electric and water) and remove the knobs. - Unscrew both M5 x 16 screws under the fascia. - Tilt the fascia: Slightly pull downwards 1 then to yourself 2. 2 1 - Put the fascia in locking position: clamp both lugs into the apertures foreseen in the fascia.

It is recommended, for the fixation of cantilever appliances to a concrete wall, to observe the following points: * The reinforced concrete of the wall must be at least of quality 23 MPA (DTU). * Use HSA-R M 8x75 plugs or equivalent (2 for cooking tops and 6 for cooking units). * For the plugs above, each hole must be drilled to diameter 8 mm and, at least, 65 mm deep. Procedure - Fix the template supplied by two 5 screws to the wall. Check horizontality. Warning! Check this template is really horizontal. 902

Page 32 3BE390583NI 07/07 - Drill through the 5 fixation holes of the brackets. Use the upper holes (2 brackets per appliance). Note: In case of impossibility (due to the presence of technical ducts, a metal strengthener in the wall ), drill through the lower holes in the template. - Remove the template. - Increase the bracket fixation holes to diameter 8 and, at least, to 65 mm in depth. - Fix the brackets to the wall. Use HSA-R M 8x75 plugs or equivalent. - Open the brackets to the maximum by means of the centre screw Opened bracket Fixation screw Opening screw - Put the appliances in place on the brackets and lock them. - Put the wall supports under the appliance (2 per appliance). - Adjust alignement in height of the appliances by means of the wall support screw jack Bracket Wall support

It is recommended, for the fixation of cantilever appliances to a concrete wall, to observe the following points: * The reinforced concrete wall must be at least of the quality 23 MPA (DTU). * Use HSA-R M 8x75 plugs or equivalent (2 for the cooking tops and 6 for the cooking units). * For the plugs above, drill holes to diameter 8 mm and at least a minimum depth of 65 mm. Procedure - Fix the lower bearing beam of the appliances against the wall. Warning! The bearing beam must be set horizontal (levelled). - Fix the template supplied to the wall with two 5 screws. Set it horizontal. 902 212 131

- Open the brackets to the maximum by means of the centre screw Opened bracket Fixation screw Opening screw - Set the appliances in place on the brackets and lock them. Warning! The appliances must rest on the bearing beam.

4.1 ELECTRIC CONNECTION Page 43 3BE390583NI 07/07 4. INSTALLATION: CONNECTIONS Warning! These appliances are equipped with a polarised electronic flame control box. When connecting electricity, check that the neutral line is connected to the neutral terminal and the phase to the phase. 4.1 1 GAS FRYER Location of the equipotentiality terminal Electric connection is carried out from the right front side of the appliance, whatever the model. - Remove the cover of the connecting box. - Introduce the cable through the gland. - Tighten the gland. - Connect the wires. - Connect the equipotential link to the terminal foreseen for the purpose. - Put the cover back in place on the connecting box Only use supply cables of the H07 RN-F type with 3 x 2.5 mm 2 section. Foresee an omnipolar shut off device patented for safety of personnel (with a distance between contacts of at least 3 mm when opened). The installation must meet the national rules in force (France: NFC 15.100). The appliance must be connected to the earth. The different electric appliances must also be connected by means of an equipotential line (all metallic structures to the same voltage) by means of a terminal provided for this purpose and located beside the connecting gland. The builder denies all responsibility in the case where the instructions above are not observed.

Page 45 3BE390583NI 07/07 4.2 GAS CONNECTION Check that the appliance adjustments meet the nature and pressure of gas distributed in the plant. (See paragraph 1: Firm plate). Connect the appliance to the gas inlet line by interposing a shut off valve that enables the appliance to be isolated from the other part of the plant. The gas inlet line will be dimensioned so as to minimise the load losses: its diameter will be determined depending on its run (length, number of elbows...) and the total power of the appliance. To check the gas pressure supply of the appliance, it is necessary to connect a water column pressure gauge on a pressure tap placed on the gas unit (gas pressure tap A on the diagram). Pressure tap A The gas pressure so measured must be equal to that indicated on the firm plate for the gas used. (See paragraph 1: Firm plate). Gas connections must meet the standards in force (DTU 61.1) and are to be carried out only by qualified installers. These connections are made to a 1/2" male gas part (see above).
