UL 1993 Overview Standard issued in September 1993 and was primarily for fluorescent self-ballasted lamps and lamp adapters. 3 rd Edition issued in August 2009 - scope changed to cover self-ballasted lamp and lamp adapters but expanded to include: incandescent, fluorescent, HID, and light emitting diode (LED) - Harmonized with CSA. UL/CSA 1993 - Does not apply to Exit Signs Covers all requirements for the standard self ballasted lamp - includes previous requirements from UL 935 - specifies minimum spacings.
