November 5 th 2017 The annual Remembrance Parade and Cenotaph Service was held on Sunday, Nov 5 th with the parade leading off at 12:45 from the IGA in Hudson, with the service taking place at the cenotaph at 13h00. Photo: Rod Hodgson

The Remembrance Day ceremony was attended by over 100 Legionnaires and local residents and currently serving Canadian military personnel. September 28 th 2017 M.P. Peter Schiefke explains the meaning of the Vimy Oak to a large audience on Sept. 28 th. Seated on the left & middle are WW II Veterans Peter Stephenson (RCNVR) & Maxine Bredt (Canadian Army Medical Corp) & on the right is RCAF Veteran Jack Folkins (441 Squadron) from the Cold War era.

M.P. Peter Schiefke aids WW II Veteran Peter Stephenson with the first shovelful of earth to plant the Vimy Oak in Hudson. Peter Stephenson s father had been at Vimy Ridge on April 9 th -12 th, 1917 with the Cape s Battery, (3 rd Canadian Siege Battery) along with some 25 other men from Hudson.

Wednesday, August 23 rd, 2017 Legion Members, as well as many residents fom the community were hosted by M.P. Peter Schiefke to a wonderful tour of the Parliment Buildings in Ottawa. An opportunity to see and hear Peter describe the workings of our members of parliment. Thank You Peter and to your staff for a great day.

Sunday, August 13 th 2017 Hudson, Branch 115 unveiling and rededication of our cenotaph Comrade Rod Hodgson, 2nd V.P. Hudson Branch 115 along with Maxine Bredt as she cuts the LEST WE FORGET memorial cake. Maxine served as a nursing sister with the Canadian Army Medical Corps during WW II on various front including Italy and N.W. Europe. June 22, 2017 Five bursaries of $750.00 from the Poppy Fund were presented to local students. They are students from Westwood Senior Campus in Hudson, Quebec. Presenting the checks were comrade David Hatch, Sgt at Arms and President comrade Eric Connor from Hudson Legion Branch 115.

June 6th, 2017 Branch 115, Hudson commemorated the 73rd anniversary of the Normandy landings to honor those who landed at D-Day (1944), and especially those who made the supreme sacrifice. In the picture from left to right: Comrade Patrick Daunais (Co-organizer), comrade Ian Walker (D-Day Veteran), comrade Peter Hughes (D-Day + 1 Veteran), comrade Harry Trenholme (D- Day Veteran) and comrade Rod Hodgson (Co-organizer).

On June 4 th 2017, David Hatch, Sgt. At Arms of Br. #115 was part of the colour guard at the Memorial Service at the Field of Honour in Pointe Claire. He is pictured in the centre of the photo with the red sash.

June 4 th 2017, Comrade Rod Hodgson, 2 nd V.P. of Br. #115. was honoured to meet and chat with the Minister of Defence The Honourable Harjit Singh Sajjan.

June 4 th 2017, We are now conducting a fund-raising session to finish off the Cenotaph before it is rededicated this summer. Please drop off your donation at the bar. Last Week a new chain link fence was erected around the Cenotaph and gardens. Congratulations and a great big THANK YOU to Mike Elliott and John Dalgarno for all their hard work.

On April 9 th 2017, Maxine Bredt, a WW II Nursing Sister Veteran, attended the 100 th Anniversary of Vimy Ridge on a special invitation of the Department of Veteran s Affairs. She will be 98 in about a month from now.

April 9, 2017 Sunday s memorial to Vimy Ridge was very well attended with over 100 members and guests in attendance. It was a beautiful sunny day to remember those from Hudson and Canada who had fought and fallen during the Battle of Vimy Ridge on April 9th, 1917. A special thank you goes to Sergeant at Arms David Hatch, Cody Gilmore and Bob Hart for helping make the day work perfectly.

On Friday March 10th 2017, Branch 115, Hudson presented a check for $2,000 to Jeanie Basile of the Lakeshore General Hospital Foundation. Presenting the check from the Legion Poppy fund is Moe LaFoley (centre) and Eric Connor, President Hudson Legion Br. #115.

A very dedicated group from Hudson Legion Br. #115 who under the leadership of Bruce Munro have collected over a ton of supplies for the Fort McMurray fire victims. Bruce contacted numerous Legion branches around Montreal and they all gathered house hold items, such as soap, diapers, pet food, toiletries, household needs-toilet paper, paper towels etc...
