The Diabolo is an architectural idea specially developed by TERREAL and Renzo Piano for tomorrow s urban landscapes. For Renzo Piano Building Workshop, Paul Vincent The idea came from Renzo Piano, during his first public visit to the Amiens Citadel. Product: The Diabolo, Amiens Citadel Project managers: Renzo Piano Building Workshop and AIA Ingénierie Client: The City of Amiens and Amiens Aménagement The Citadel ought to be a HAPPY place where people feel at home, somewhere you can meet up and talk, where you can sit down on grass that dries out very quickly and where the equipment needed for concerts and shows can be set up easily. The Diabolo s design derives from its different uses: It can resist heavy loads when placed on a well-prepared surface providing drainage, and can be used with soil and adapted grass. We have high hopes for this invention and for its potential.

MAINTENANCE TIPS Looking after Diabolos is very simple and very practical Use the adapted clips to: line up the Diabolos (central cavities) maintain the correct space on each side of the piece (7.5cm) provide an expansion joint between the Diabolos For straight (or other) joints WATERING MOWING Watering should be adapted to the quality and dryness of the grass (yellowing). Use a lawnmower with tyres and an adjustable cutting height. Recommended cutting height is 3 cm for mowing 2/3 times a month between spring and autumn. Diabolo Clips REPLACEMENT If a Diabolo is accidentally broken, it can be replaced very quickly and easily (about 15 minutes) simply by replacing a single unit.
