The connection may be done by splicing the subscriber cable in the box. An option is also to install a pre-terminated subscriber cable directly in the box, or you may buy a pre-terminated wall-mount box with a defined cable length. The wall-mount box is normally mounted close to the home central. Connection to this is done using a subscriber patch cord. When running cable in a house the cable may be exposed to more severe bends than are normal in other parts of the network. This requires a fibre that is more insensitive to these types of effects.
