Reliable, stable, safe Imtech AMCS Imtech s new Alarm, Monitoring & Control System is the automation solution for seagoing cargo vessels. The system was developed to provide our Customers a modular & scalable AMCS including installation and service. To achieve this, Imtech Marine Germany cooperated with Free Technics and evolved the established FT NavVision system to meet the highest requirements. The combination of Imtech Marine Germany s integration and customer knowledge with Free Technics software expertise and existing product line resulted in a modular, flexible and state-of-the-art AMCS which complies with the automation requirements for unmanned machinery spaces (AUT notation). Imtech AMCS provides with control, monitoring and safeguarding of all equipment such as engines, generators, pumps refrigeration and hydraulic systems. System Architecture The Imtech AMCS infrastructure uses a failsafe redundant Local Area Network with a distributed database and redundant data server configuration. The AMCS server application is installed on each Operator Work Station (or OWS). The latest computer technology and stateof-the-art super yacht technology applied in a multifunctional alarm monitoring & control system for the yachting & professional market: Imtech AMCS. The Imtech AMCS solution combines the latest visualization techniques, bright TFT displays, the latest network technology & first class hardware into a complete multifunctional navigation monitoring suite. The use of embedded Operating Systems and the multi-threaded architecture of Imtech AMCS s software guarantee an extremely reliable and stable application. Operator Work Stations The operator Work Stations are fully solid state equipped and Windows XP Embedded based control & monitoring stations, complete with keyboard and/or trackball. All OWS s can perform various roles (server, client, alarm panel) and are able to automatically switch roles when needed, resulting in a high flexibility and availability of the system. The OWS s are connected to the I/O substations via a redundant, failsafe LAN connection. I/O Substations The I/O substations are used to connect the platform sensors, actuators and serial connections to third party devices. A substation consists of a WAGO 750 Series PLC that is extendable up to 1.000 I/O ports per substation. As a result, Imtech AMCS is able to read out and control more than 10.000 measuring points.
Intuitive, easy, fast High operational availability is reached by applying shockproof fanless solid-state PCs using Windows Embedded software and a redundant Ethernet topology. The intuitive Human Machine Interface combined with unambiguous alarm handling offers every operator an unprecedented working environment. Graphic Duty Alarm Panels with integrated Engineering Calling / Personal Alarm functionality offer optimal convenience for the crew onboard. Human-Machine Interface Imtech AMCS contains a comprehensive graphical representation for monitoring and (remote) control of the platform systems and components. The main element is the taskbar, positioned on top of the screen. The taskbar contains shortcuts to navigate to various viewers, shows a list of the alarm(s) currently active and links to the main user interfaces: Alarm viewer Data logging & trending Screens with instruments, control elements and indicators P&ID mimics with dynamic monitoring and control elements User defined mimics Via these screens, the operator is able to monitor and control the vessel by using the trackball or touch screen as a pointing device by selecting elements and their associated commands. Graphic Duty Alarm Panels In addition to the Operator Work Stations, the AMCS also includes Graphic Duty Alarm Panels (DAP s) with integrated Engineer Calling / Personal Alarm functions. The Duty Alarm Panels are usually located in the wheelhouse, crew accomodation and engineers cabins and contain simplified alarm pages, operated via a touch screen.
