Manufacturer: Model Number(s): Minimum Core Module Version: Thermostat version information: Honeywell Lyric Round Wi-Fi Thermostat 8.1.395 Document Revision Date: 5/11/2017 OVERVIEW AND SUPPORTED FEATURES Integration Note Collection 02.02.20.00 / Thermostat 02.02.20.00 / Bootloader 01.00.03.00 WiFi 02.02.20.00 / Bootloader 01.00.00.00 / Series 01 / Config. Version 13 The Lyric Wi-Fi Thermostat communicates with the ELAN system via the Lyric cloud-based interface. A reliable integration with ELAN requires both the Wi-Fi to the thermostat(s) and the internet connectivity onsite are always on and always reliable. THE LYRIC THERMOSTAT SUPPORTS THE FOLLOWING FEATURES: Temperature Control: Temperature set points can be adjusted via the ELAN interface, and will have the equivalent effect as adjusting the temperature on the Lyric directly. Important! Honeywell limits 3rd party control to approximately 12 communications in a single hour. When this limitation is reached, control for that thermostat may be disabled for a period of time. Control via the Lyric Application is still functional during this lockout period. ELAN attempts to minimize the risk of a lockout by bundling multiple rapid adjustments into a single large adjustment prior to transmission to the cloud and limiting status polling to every 5 minutes. HVAC Mode Control: The climate system can be set to run in the following heating and cooling modes: Heat only, Cool only, Auto Heat/Cool or Off. FAN Mode Control: The fan can be set to Circulate, On, or Auto. Thermostat Status: The ELAN UI will display the thermostat room temperature, heat/cool setpoints, HVAC mode, and active heat/cooling calls. Important! Due to the communication limitation stated above, any status changes at the thermostat may take up to 5 minutes to display on the ELAN interface. History View: By default, the history view tracks the room temperature and setpoints of the Lyric. Optionally, the Lyric indoor humidity (sensor based), and the Lyric outdoor temperature and humidity (based on Honeywell s internet weather data) may be added to the history view. Fahrenheit or Celsius Temperatures: Lyric thermostats support either Fahrenheit whole number degrees or Celsius half degrees. Auto Thermostat Detection: After initial configuration and authentication with the Lyric cloud, the ELAN software will automatically detect the locations and the thermostats configured in the Lyric App. Event Map Events, Conditions, Commands: The Lyric Driver supports a wide range of Event Map Events (Triggers), Conditions, and Commands. ELAN Scheduling: Lyric can be configured to use the ELAN climate scheduler. All internal scheduling in Lyric must be disabled to avoid conflicts. THE LYRIC THERMOSTAT DOES NOT SUPPORT THE FOLLOWING FEATURES: Humidity Control: Humidity control is not supported. Lyric Home, Away, Scheduling, and AutoSmart (geofencing) Modes: These mode settings on the Lyric thermostat are not supported when ELAN is configured for schedule control. If using Lyric for home, away, scheduling, and geofencing then disable the ELAN scheduler on each thermostat in the configurator to avoid conflicts. Multiple Lyric Accounts: ELAN will only support a single Lyric account for each Elan Master Controller Current Weather, Forecast, Date, & Time: The Lyric thermostat can display weather and time information on it s interface if it has been configured to do so. This weather information is in no way associated with the weather and time information in ELAN and as such it may display weather information that is inconsistent with the ELAN interface. Any feature not specifically noted as supported should be assumed to be unsupported.
INSTALLATION OVERVIEW 1. Install, configure, and test the thermostats independently of ELAN. Refer to the Honeywell documentation for detailed instructions. 2. Create your Lyric User account and test the Lyric Thermostat as a stand-alone system to ensure that the zones correctly turn on the appropriate heating or cooling equipment from both the thermostat itself and the Lyric App on your device. 3. Configure the ELAN software for the Lyric Thermostat and confirm communication between the system and the ELAN system controller. See ELAN Configuration Steps below. 4. Test the system by changing the set points, modes, and schedules on the viewer and various zones, confirming that the various components in the system are in communicating with each other. ELAN CONFIGURATION STEPS 1. In Configurator, Add the Lyric Interface Communication Device. See ELAN Configuration Details below. 2. Select the communication device and click the Authorize button at the bottom of the page to open a browser to the Honeywell login web page. 3. On the browser Honeywell login page enter your Lyric account login credentials and click Login. 4. Read the Authorization details allowing ELAN to access the thermostat settings then click allow to agree to authorize. The page will refresh to an ELAN logo with text stating that the authorization has completed successfully. 5. In Configurator, on the Communication device the Location drop down will now display the locations that have been setup in the Lyric App. Select the location to add to the ELAN system then click the Apply button at the bottom of the page. 6. Click the Discover devices at the bottom of the page to read in all the thermostats on the selected location. 7. Add additional communication devices for each Lyric location then follow steps 5 & 6 to discover the thermostats. 8. Configure scheduling: a. If using ELAN scheduling first disable all scheduling in the Lyric system, then configure the ELAN schedules. b. If using Lyric scheduling, you must disable scheduling from ELAN.

COMMON MISTAKES 1. Incorrect Thermostat: Honeywell manufactures several thermostats, using any thermostat model other that the one(s) listed in the header above will not work. 2. Failing to Configure Lyric Thermostat prior to ELAN integration: The Lyric Thermostat must be fully configured and tested independently from ELAN before adding it to a ELAN System. 3. No Control: The following issues may result in loss of control from ELAN: a. No Internet connectivity - the Lyric thermostat requires an internet connection for communication between ELAN and the Thermostat. b. Weak or Intermittent Wi-Fi to the thermostat. c. Not authorized. 4. Latencies or slow updates and control: Honeywell Lyric limits 3rd party control to approximately 12 adjustments in a single hour. When this limitation is reached, control for that thermostat may be disabled for a period of one hour. Control via the Lyric Application or the thermostat itself are still functional during this lockout period. 5. Not disabling Scheduling: Schedule control must be implemented either via ELAN or Honeywell and not both.
