Simbillo AIM: Introduction about China, India, France and getting to know their significant landmarks. OBJECTIVES: - Introduction of the world map, geographical location of countries and continents. - Learning the difference in physical appearance, clothing, religion, languages, food, Monetary units,culture and tradition of countries which are in this project. -Talking and exploring about the landmarks, their significance and history to their Countries. -Connecting the landmark to it s respective country automatically once the children Saw it. The motivation of this project came from children s interest. They love to explore the map, globe, and magazines, and children encyclopedias showing people all over the globe. We started on the exploration of the geographical location of each continents and countries. Children located their own countries and where their parents are from. Then we started moving towards learning the physical appearance of people, like colour of eyes, hair, skin, and which language we are using. We also talked about the weather conditions, climate and clothing. We learned about their food, culture and tradition, religion, and the monetary unit they are using. The last part was learning about the landmarks of the countries involved in this project that once the children saw these landmarks they automatically know which country they are in. Then we built the actual representation of this landmarks and explored and played with them. PROJECT ACTIVITIES: 1. EXPLORING -exploring the world map, globe, magazines, book, and encyclopedias. -exploring our similarities and differences with our classmates hair, skin, and eye colour. -exploring languages ex. Listening to a song in French, Indian, or Chinese. 2. COLLECTING - collecting different materials like pictures, magazines that we can use for the project. 3. CLASSIFICATION -differentiating eye, hair, skin colour. - differentiating weather, climate conditions and foods. - classifying monetary unit, clothing, religion and traditions. 4. BUILDING -making the Great Wall of China -making the Taj Mahal of India -making the Eiffel Tower of France - making a geographical map for continents.
5.ART WORK -making a map for continents - making Eiffel Tower out of bottles and wooden blocks. - making Taj Mahal out of carton box. -making Great Wall of China out of carton. - dressing up like Chinese warriors and Indian people. 6. Games -re-enactment of historical fight in the Great Wall of China using a game called Clean Your House. -dress up game like people of India and playing tourist exploring the Taj Mahal. -playing cars and traffics while circling around the Eiffel Tower built out of wooden block Legos, plastic bottles, and big carton blocks. EVALUATION Children enjoyed learning and exploring about our Multicultural Project. They learned a lot about people all over the globe. Our similarities and differences and we are all unique and special in many ways.at first, they are surprised for example on how people from Africa, India, and China look like but as the project progresses they learned that there are other people that looks different from them and dresses, talks differently and eat different kinds of food. Children learned acceptance and awareness about other people from other countries apart from their own countries of birth and region. A ATTACHMENTS:
