I want to make the Champion Craft.- 5 points 2. I want to learn to make a new wreath and win champion.- 10 points 3. I want to learn the technique of twisting mesh around a wire wreath frame, to create a Fall themed wreath.- 15 points What were two things you learned from completing this project this year? 1. I like to make crafts- 5 points I learned to making stepping stones this year with plaster paris. 10 points 2. I learned that when working with mesh can be challenging. You must keep a firm hold to be sure that while twisting and tacking it to the wreath frame, you don t mash the mesh or loosen the tightness in the twist. 15 point What is one thing you would like to improve or do differently with your project next year? Make Champion Crafts- 5 points Make crafts to share or gift to my loved ones 10 points Next year I would like to search for more craft materials at yard sales. Finding supplies cheaper will help me to be able me to make more crafts. 15 points

I used one or more of these Life Skills from the Targeting Life Skills Wheel HEAD Example: Decision Making Life Skills Describe the Life Skills you used and what you learned in relation to your project. Example Table What I learned as a result of using this skill. I learned that I needed to be sure to budget my money when purchasing craft supplies so I would have enough to cover all of my expenses. HEART Example: Sharing HAND Example: Community Service Volunteering HEALTH Example: Managing Feelings I used one or more of these Life Skills from the Targeting Life Skills Wheel HEAD- Decision Making HEART- Sharing I learned how to give younger 4-H members pointers on how to make a wreath through a visual presentation. Through my woodworking project, I have learned many new skills. I found it to be beneficial to my community to utilize those woodworking skills when volunteering to build a wheel chair ramp. I learned to control my feelings when I became frustrated that the new cake I baked didn t rise. Since I didn t have success with the new cake recipe, I am going to research other options that I could try. What I learned as a result of using this skill. Decide what to enter at fair- 5 points To decide what supplies I will need to make many crafts this year- 10 points I had several decisions to make this year in my craft project. I wanted to make a wreath for my Grandmother s door. When looking on Pinterest for ideas, I had to factor in the size of her door, decide how much money I budgeted to spend, decide if there were any materials I already had, before deciding what idea I would choose. 15 points Shared with others- 5 points Shared my craft idea with my sister so she could make the same craft.- 10 points I shared my recycled craft idea on Pinterest for others to use or be inspired by.- 15 points HAND- Leadership and Community Service HEALTH- Self-esteem Gave a craft visual presentation- 5 points Explained how to make a craft for others to make and donate to a nursing home.- 10 points I led a hands on demonstration with my club to teach them how to assemble a wooden heart magnet. We then shared them with a nursing home as a favor for Valentine s Day.- 15 point Made me feel good- 5 points I felt good donating my crafts to others - 10 points It made me feel good inside, to see the happy expressions on the residents faces, When I helped deliver the heart craft favors to the nursing home- 15 point The diagram below shows many of the Life Skills learned in 4-H: Courtesy of Iowa State University-Used with Permission 11/2012 2
