Sun tunnels Sun tunnels (see section 5) TWF/TLF Exterior rooflight with toughened glass and integral flashing. Metalised flexible tunnel to bend round objects in loft space. Ceiling ring and double acrylic pane diffuses daylight into room below. 5.01.00 TWR/TLR As TWF/TLF except the tunnel is rigid with adjustable elbows to accommodate roof pitch. 5.01.00 Decoration and sunscreening (see section 6) Interior sunscreening Blackout blinds Blackout blinds can exclude even the brightest sunlight. They can retain the heat in the room or reflect excessive heat from the sun. 6.01.00 Roller blinds Roller blinds provide privacy as well as basic protection against the sun s rays. 6.02.00 Pleated blinds Pleated blinds soften the incoming light and can provide effective insulation against heat and cold. 6.03.00 Venetian blinds Venetian blinds are the most flexible way of controlling light and heat. 6.04.00 Insect screen The screen keeps insects out but allows fresh air to circulate freely inside the room. 6.05.00 Exterior sunscreening Awning blinds Awning blinds are the most effective means of reducing solar gain, simply by filtering or blocking the amount of sunlight before it reaches the roof window. 6.06.00 Roller shutters Roller shutters protect against weather extremes and can be used to reduce energy loss and solar gain. 6.07.00 Section 1.00.03 Products q Sun tunnels q Decoration and sunscreening q Overview 022009 2009 VELUX Group
