Ultrasonic Flow Meters Metering tools to monitor liquid flow and energy Easy to use Budget sensitive Quickly acessable
THE SOUND'S TIME OF FLIGHT IS ACCURATELY MEASURED IN BOTH DIRECTIONS AND THE DIFFERENCE IN TIME OF FLIGHT CALCULATED. Ultrasonic Flow Meters
Location.. Location Location. 15 Pipe diameters of straight run between elbows for flows of 7 to 10 fps. More for higher flow rates or major obstructions. Less for lower flow rates.
Ultrasonic Flow Meters Clamp-on, Portable Basic principles Uses ultrasound waves to measure flow Key advantages Non-invasive No need to shut down system Rental & Purchase Applications Relatively clean cold or hot fluids, pipes must be full No maintenance costs
Ultrasonic Flow Meters APPLICATIONS: * Water Monitoring * Energy Management * HVAC * Test & Balance * Chillers * Cooling Towers * Boilers * And More..

Ultrasonic Flow Meters Building / Campus Mapping: Main Building A Annex Building C Annex Building B In calculating energy use, each building is unique. Address temperature loss or gain when transferring CHWS, CHWR. Meter all flows and temperatures, you cant afford not too
Do it right or data will be inaccurate. Flow Meter: Use a meter with a 1% rate accuracy. Less accurate meters or meters with accuracies based on Full Scale can be misleading. Temperature: Temperature differentials can be small (<10 F). For instance, if one sensor reads 1 F high while the other is 1 F low, the energy calculation can be off by 20%. A self-contained Btu meter is recommended as opposed to using separate flow and temperature sensors. Accuracy is generally better (matched sensors) and data collection is simpler, particularly if energy is being metered for revenue purposes.

FUJI FSC TRAINING: TEMPERATURE This illustration shows an example of how to mount the RTD sensors.
PANAMETRICS PT-878: READING TEMPERATURE Another optional accessory of the PT-878 is the Energy Monitoring RTD Kit. As with the Thickness Gauge, the sensor requires no software or firmware update to use. Installation is simple and involves plug & play with the PT-878.
READING TEMPERATURE Location.. Location Location. Mount the RTD temperature sensors in the identical location on the supply and the return (metal) pipes. Failure to-do so will result in temperature differentials that can effect your performance of the BTU calculations
FUJI FSC TRAINING: RETRIEVING LOG FILES 1. Remove SD card The SD card is located in the bottom of the meter. Simply open the rubber cover, and push the SD card in and release to eject.
Ultrasonic Flow Meters Using Dedicated Ultrasonic Meters Energy monitoring & control by monitoring BTU Flow and temperature Domestic hot & cold water Air conditioning / Heater Available with outputs 4/20mA. Modbus and Communications: 10/100 Base-T, Ethernet, BACnet MSTP, BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP and more..
Remote System: Transmit wireless or hard wire to your BAS or we can design a Data Acquisition System for your application Ultrasonic Flow Meters
Summary: Ultrasonic Flow Meters Why we need to Monitor Energy Discovery process to establish a baseline Do not make assumptions, collect good data to make good decisions Best practices in selecting metering technology Meter features, economics and availability
