4201 Lien Rd Madison, WI 53704 Owner s Manual Hydro-X Vacuum Pac Installation, Operation & Service Instructions Read and Save These Instructions The Phoenix Hydro-X Vacuum Pac outperforms the competition with its ability to apply all of its suction power at the source, pulling more water than any other restoration extraction tool on the market today. The Vacuum Pac, with it s patented, portable design and high-end technology, has two powerful vacuum motors that can generate maximum suction. And because it is portable, the Vacuum Pac can be hand-carried anywhere in a structure. Truckmount units must stay outside the structure, and every foot of hose deducts 1 cfm of vacuum power. When compared to truckmount units, the Vac Pac can apply all of its suction power right at the source of the water, losing no cfm due to 24, 50 or 100 ft. of hose. The Vacuum Pac can be run separate from the Hydro-X Xtreme Xtractor and can run with standard wands, water claws, and any other extraction tool allowing for a 2 in. connector. Patents: 6,152,151 6,629,333 The Phoenix Hydro-X Vacuum Pac Portable applies all of its suction power at the source Rust and corrosion resistant stainless steel construction Built to withstand daily use Heavy duty electronics One year warranty on parts and labor Can be used separately from the Hydro-X Xtreme Xtractor Dual industrial vac motors Heavy-duty water pump Optional port for other vacuum needs Phoenix Hydro-X Vacuum Pac PN 4025601 Specifications subject to change without notice. Proper adherence to these instructions is essential to obtain maximum benefit from your Phoenix Hydro-X Vacuum Pac. 2 Specifications Part No. 4025601 Power Suction Rating Filters Warranty Dimensions 13.5 amps - Vac Motor 4.5 amps - Pump Motor 120 V 60 Hz 10 of vacuum Washable lint bag 1 year; 100% Parts and Labor Unit Shipping Width 16 (Base) 27.5 Height 26 45.5 Depth 13 (Base) 22 Weight 74 lbs 79 lbs Vacuum Assy. 16 lbs Hose Assy. It is designed to be used INDOORS ONLY. If used in a wet area, plug it into a GROUND FAULT INTERRUPTER. It must always be used in the upright position. If there is more than 1 of standing water in the area to be extracted, a sump pump should be used to remove standing water. 1 Intended Application The patented Hydro-X Vacuum Pac was designed to provide suction power superior to any other portable or truckmount unit on the market today. Any standard extraction tool, from the Hydro-X Xtreme Xtractor, a wand, to a water claw can be combined with the Vacuum Pac allowing for extraction on hard surfaced floors, carpet, and hard to reach areas. 3 Unpacking and Setup Your Phoenix Hydro-X Vacuum Pac will mount directly on to any Hydro-X water extraction machine. It mounts in the same manner on both the walk-behind machine and the ride-on machine. First disconnect the red, corrugated vacuum hose from the Hydro-X. It can be left attached to the elbow on the handle if you wish. On machines without this red corrugated hose, the Vacuum Pac is ready to install. Lift the Vacuum Pac up and slip the vacuum tube on the underside of the Vacuum Pac down on the 2 vacuum tube of the Hydro-X. Slide it all the way down until the bottom back of the Vacuum Pac rests on the Hydro-X handle bracket. You are slipping two metal tubes together, one inside the other. The rubber hose supplied serves only to seal the tube-to-tube joint, tighten the hose clamp to make this seal. The Hydro-X cord (stored on its handle) plugs into the female plug on the Vacuum Pac marked Hydro-X plug. Plug the lead for the pump into power supply cord on the lower half of the Vacuum Pac. Make certain the vacuum motors and pump motor switches are in the off position. Plug the two Vacuum Pac cords into two separate 20 amp circuits. Install the 3/4 garden hose supplied. The end WITHOUT the white plastic check valve fastens directly to the Vacuum Pac. Lead the other end of the hose, the end with the white plastic check valve, to an appropriate drain. A 3/4 ID minimum hose with a check valve, no longer than 75 must always be used. 2 www.usephoenix.com sales@usephoenix.com

4 Operations 4.1 Extraction of Carpet and Pad Once the setup process is complete, your Hydro-X Extraction System is ready for use. We recommend using a de-foaming agent before using the Hydro-X Xtreme Xtractor. Failure to do so can result in damage to the Vacuum Pac. First, you must prime the pump. Turn both vacuum motor switches to the ON position. Do not turn on the PUMP OUT pump at this time. Run the Xtractor approximately 4-8 feet or until the water in the tank reaches the full line on the sight glass on the front of the Vacuum Pac. Stop extracting and turn off the vacuum motors. Turn the switch for the PUMP OUT pump to ON. You should see the water level in the waste tank decrease. The pump is now primed. If the water level in the waste tank does not decrease, repeat the priming process. Switch the vacuum motors and pump to ON and continue extracting. 4.2 Extraction of Hard Surfaced Floors Your Hydro-X Vacuum Pac allows you to extract hard surfaced floors and glue-down carpet. Remove the rubber cap on the front of the machine. Unsnap the four latches on the top half of the Vacuum Pac and set it aside. Remove the lint bag and plastic elbow. 8 Install the Rubber Cap in its place. Install the lint bag on to the horizontal inlet tube coming in from the front of the machine. Replace the top half of the Vacuum Pac. Slip a 2 hose on to the horizontal inlet tube on the front of the machine. With a simple flood wand your Vacuum Pac will provide excellent vacuum to extract hard surfaced floors and gluedown carpet. 5 Service Parts Item Description Qty Part Number 1 5 x 10 Gasket 1 4025645 2 15-1/2 x 8-1/2 Gasket 1 4025646 3 1-1/2 Rubber Cap 1 4025656 4 1-1/2 x 1-1/2 Coupler 3 4025640 5 Draw Latches 4 4025651 6 Vacuum Pumps 2 4025653 7 5 x 10 Lexan - Tuffak 1 4025652 8 Circuit Board/Switch Assembly 1 4025732 9 Red Switch Cover 3 4025625 Items available but not shown: Suction Gauge (if equipped) 1 4025648 PVC Elbow 1 4025642 Suction Strainers 2 4025660 Lint Bag 1 4025631 Water Pump/Teel Pump 1 4025662 Check Valve 1 4025664 1-1/2 x 12 Cord Strap 4 4025629 9 4 6 2 3 5 1 & 7 3 www.usephoenix.com sales@usephoenix.com
