Sustainable at heart The reconstruction of Elite House was a unique opportunity to turn it into a sustainable building. We did our best to make conscious decisions about the choice of construction materials and technical solutions and the effect they have on human health and the environment. Other areas of focus were water and energy conservation, which is why we opted for efficient heating and cooling systems, such as the climate ceilings that are installed in all of the office space at Elite House. It is our aim to receive LEED certification on a platinum level for the Elite House. LEED stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design. Vastint sees sustainability as working towards positive long-term social, economic and environmental solutions and developments. That is why, apart from the technical perspective, another crucial point for us is the comfort of the building s users. Recognising the growing tendency to make every possible aspect of our lives greener, we decided to add facilities for bikers, such as a storage room for bicycles and access to showers for employees who decide to travel to work in an eco-friendly way. 12 13
