NOTE: Putting too much food coloring in will affect the ability to form cotton candy. COLORED SUGAR RECIPE: In a lidded jar, place 1/4 cup of sugar with a few drops of food color. Shake vigorously until the color is evenly distributed. OR, use colored sugar from the cake decorating aisle. BE SURE NOT TO ADD MORE THAN 1 TABLESPOON OF SUGAR AT A TIME IN THIS APPLIANCE. Insert the sugar container onto the motor base. Press down firmly until the shaft slots on the sugar container post fit over the horizontal pins on the motor base shaft. 6. Immediately after the desired sugar or hard candy has been added, turn the cotton candy maker ON. Cotton candy strands will come out of the sugar container within 2 minutes. 7. Use the plastic sticks to accumulate the cotton candy. Swirl the plastic sticks around the bowl until the desired amount of cotton candy has been accumulated. Lift stick out of the bowl and enjoy. 8.
