1 - Product description The FF-SYZPF posts are designed for perimeter protection of dangerous areas when used together with the Honeywell safety light curtains. In this way, perimeter protections with different shapes can be realised cost-effectively (straight, L- shape, U-shape or 360 ) using one emitter and receiver only. Figure 1-1 U-shape perimeter protection using mirror posts and two posts for FF-SYA light curtains The FF-SYZPF posts exist in three versions. However, the same housing is used for all versions. FF-SYZPF: basic post to install a Honeywell safety light curtain emitter or receiver inside. FF-SYZPF : post with individual mirrors to be used with access detection systems. FF-SYZPFM : post with plain mirrors to be used with safety light curtains for limb detection such as finger, hand or leg. Mirrors in mirror posts are pre-mounted and pre-aligned in our factory. Broken mirrors can be easily exchanged on site. The mirror posts are available with mirrors reducing the scanning range by 10 % or 25 %. The Honeywell safety light curtains and the mirrors are mounted inside the post via a T-slot mounting system. The posts provide two T-slots on each straight panel offering the possibility to support additional sensors (i.e. muting sensors). Additional stacking beacons (incl. i.e. a muting lamp) can be easily installed on the plastic top plate of the post. There is a cable exit hole on the base plate for the cable of the light curtain and the cable supplying the stacking beacon. FSYZ3 POST DAMAGE BY FORKLIFT TRUCKS Install additional mechanical protection around the FF-SYZPF posts to avoid damage by forklift trucks. Failure to comply with these instructions may result in product damage. 107068-12 EN FR26 GLO 903 Printed in France 1

2 - FF-SYZPF Post for Honeywell Safety Light Curtains The installation of the Honeywell safety light curtains is to be done via a T-slot mounting system using the recommended brackets (see Table 1 in Chapter 2) and eight T-shape mounting bolts (delivered with the FF-SYZPF posts). The light curtains can be mounted in two different positions inside the post. The following safety light curtain models can be installed inside the FF-SYZPF post, offering additional protection to the safety light curtain. Use of straight connectors is necessary when installing the safety light curtain on the FF-SYZPF fixed floor mounting post (See product datasheet). 5 - Alignment Instructions This chapter contains information about installing and aligning the FF-SYZPF posts using a FF-SY safety light curtain. Proceed similarly with a FF-SLG access detection system using the FF-SXZLAT laser alignment tool. The use of the FF-SPZLASER laser pen with its FF-SYZ604795 adapter for FF-SYA light curtains is recommended for an easy and fast alignment of light curtain posts and mirror posts, especially if the scanning distance is greater than 10 meters/324 feet. The laser adapter is designed to be easily clipped on the housing of the FF-SYA without any additional electrical connections. However, alignment without the laser pen alignment aid is also possible. Figure 5-1 FF-SYZ604795 laser pen adapter and FF-SPZLASER laser pen for FF-SYA Series 5.1 Alignment and installation of FF-SYZPF posts Kitlaserflash.jpg Figure 5-2 Alignment using FF-SPZLASER laser pen and the FF-SYZ604795 laser pen adapter for FF-SYA The following instructions explain how to align and install the FF-SYZPF posts with the FF-SYA emitter/receiver and the FF-SYZPF post(s) with mirrors in perimeter guarding applications. Alignment.jpg FSYZ4 Figure 5-3 U-shape perimeter protection using two mirror posts and two posts for FF-SYA light curtains 8 107068-12 EN FR26 GLO 903 Printed in France

1. Choose the correct location for the FF-SYZPF posts according to the calculated safety distance to the danger zone. IMPROPER INSTALLATION OF FF-SYA SERIES LIGHT CURTAIN Install FF-SYA Light Curtains in accordance with the safety distances following the applicable local safety regulations (OSHA, ANSI, European standards). See also the Installation Manual of the FF-SYA series. Allow entry into protected area by interruption of sensing field or other safeguarding device only. Failure to comply with these instructions could result in death or serious injury. 2. Install the barriers inside the FF-SYZPF post using the standard mounting brackets of the FF-SYA. Screw slightly to allow vertical adjustments of the barrier. Supply the emitter and the receiver with the correct power. 3. Prealign the FF-SYZPF posts roughly using one of the following methods: 1 st method: Draw a line on the ground to visualise the infrared beam path between the posts. Place the centre of each gauge on each end of this line and adjust the orientation of the gauge representing the column base plates according to this line. Figure 5-4 Positioning of the post using a straight line FSYZ7 Figure 5-5 Drilling gauge Cable exit slot Swivel hole 2 nd method: Make a visual alignment of the beam path using the image of the mirror(s): Example: U-shape perimeter guarding application (one post each for receiver and emitter, two mirror posts): Adjust the four posts until the image of the next post can be seen in the mirror of the previous post. Fixing hole Adjustment screw FSYZ4 FSYZ6 Visualcontrol.jpg Figure 5-6 U-shape perimeter protection using two mirror posts and two posts for FF-SYA light curtains Figure 5-7 Pre-alignment of posts using visual control 107068-12 EN FR26 GLO 903 Printed in France 9

4. Drill the ø 12 mm hole indicated on the centre of each gauge and install the swivel (included on delivery of posts) for each column. Drill the 3 fixing holes (ø12 mm/0.47 in) at each corner of the base plate. Place each post on its swivel and roughly adjust their orientation. 5. Each post is delivered with 3 wedges and M10 screws that are used to adjust the columns vertically. Place these wedges beyond the M10 adjustment screws. 6. Install fixing screws (not included on delivery of posts) and screw slightly. 7. Use the spirit level located at the bottom of each post to adjust each column precisely to the vertical. After the adjustment, all posts must be parallel to each other. M 10 adjustment screw Adjusting wedge Figure 5-8 Adjusting wedges Adjwedge.jpg Figure 5-9 Integrated spirit level Spirit level 8. After adjusting the columns vertically, make the optical alignment of the safety light curtains as well as the mirror posts. The laser alignment kit should be used to ease these adjustments. 9. Clip the laser adapter above an optical lens of the receiver that will be used as reference point (i.e. the first lens from the top). Tighten the screw of the laser adapter. Switch on the laser pen and slide it inside the tube. EYE EXPOSURE TO LASER LIGHT Avoid direct eye exposure to the laserlight of the FF-SPZLASER laser pen. It complies with laser Class IIa per the European standard EN 60825 and US standard US 21 CFR 1040. Failure to comply with these instructions could result in eye injury. Spirit level.jpg LASER PEN DAMAGE Ensure that the laser pen inside the mechanical adapter is well blocked, to avoid it falling down. Failure to comply with these instructions may result in product damage. 10 107068-12 EN FR26 GLO 903 Printed in France
