For grazing applications, the goal is to evenly illuminate the wall or ceiling being grazed while highlighting the surface s textures. A long, narrow beam that runs almost parallel to the grazed surface (as Hylytr provides) is ideal. Typical grazers emit a relatively wide beam (blue line). Hylytr, by contrast, produces a narrow, almost laser-like, beam (green line) that allows for spill-free illumination. Candelas the lighting measurement that describes how far a source "reaches" is the most important metric in grazing applications. A traditional fluorescent grazer has an effiicency of 55 cd/w, while a typical LED grazer may achieve double that at 110 cd/w. Hylytr, by contrast, greatly out-performs both reaching 300-400+ cd/w in a typical application. Lumens, on the other hand, is a measure of distributed intensity where higher values register at horizontal light outputs nearest to 90. This is why grazers and directional lighting, in general, are not included in DesignLights Consortium (DLC) nor other regulatory registries. Grazing Efficiency measures the ability of light to reach long distances using less energy.

OPTICS Proprietary, patent-pending Double Slot Optics occlude stray, remnant light emissions to produce sharp-edged, narrow-beam and glare-free illumination that reaches distances of up to 60'. The optics chamber doubles as the luminaire's lens- free fixture housing. OPERATING TEMPERATURE Page 7 of 8 Luminaire should be installed and operated ONLY in environments where the ambient temperature ranges from -4 F (-20 C) to 122 F (50 C). Operating the luminaire in environments outside the listed temperature range voids the warranty AND may damage the product or adversely impact lamp life, lumen output and color consistency. EMERGENCY Secondary beam spill is clipped by two sets of slot edges within the optics chamber. A clean, sharp primary beam of light is then emitted through a narrow, lensless opening. The deep recession of the LEDS in the optics chamber provides glarefree illumination at critical glare angles. Luminaires can be wired for emergency circuit and/ or emergency battery backup. AESTHETIC SHROUDS Optional aesthetic shrouds (1) surface-mount (HYMG) and (2) suspended (HYSCS) only cover the linear slots in the base housing which are otherwise used for mounting in other models. The shrouds are constructed of the same aluminum as the housing and match finish choice.
