Benchmark places responsibilities on both manufacturers and installers. The purpose is to ensure that customers are provided with the correct equipment for their needs, that it is installed, commissioned and serviced in accordance with the manufacturer s instructions by competent persons and that it meets the requirements of the appropriate Building Regulations. The Benchmark Checklist can be used to demonstrate compliance with Building Regulations and should be provided to the customer for future reference. Installers are required to carry out installation, commissioning and servicing work in accordance with the Benchmark Code of Practice which is available from the Heating and Hotwater Industry Council who manage and promote the Scheme. IMPORTAT OT: The layouts illustrated in this brochure are for guidance only and do not constitute a full system design. All Mechanical and lectrical equipment must be installed in accordance with the instructions supplied, by a suitably qualifi ed ngineer and to the current regulations Controls for the AVATA PUS and AVATA v/8v/v Boilers The AVATA series are fully condensing boilers using gas / air ratio controls to provide full modulation and can be operated in the following modes. All boilers require a permanent 0v single phase amp fused power supply plus controls as below: OT: The boiler is phase / neutral sensitive when used with external 0v controls. O / OFF Control fi xed fl ow temperature where the boiler modulates it s output to match a fi xed fl ow set point using simple 0v switching controls: Single or Two channel time clock (internal only available on the 8s/s/c/0s/8c/c/9c) Room thermostat Cylinder thermostat Diverting / mixing or isolating valves MODUATIG Control fl ow temperature is directly controlled by the outside weather or inside room compensator to provide comfort conditions at all times using OpenTherm controls: Outside sensor sensor or cylinder thermostat Room compensator Digital time/weather or room compensator Mechanical time/ analogue weather or room compensator Controls available from Broag as optional extras S6 Internally mounted two channel digital time clock kit (not for the Avanta v/8v/v) S6c Internally mounted single channel digital time clock (for the Combi series only) 0 Outside sensor S96 sensor S97 Room thermostat - Celcia 0 S96 Room compensator - Celcia 8 Wall mounted Digital Time / Weather compensator - Celcia 0 (outside sensor not included) TG00 Wall mounted Analog Time / Weather compensator - Theben DA00 Wall mounted two channel hour time clock (0v switching) DA00 Wall mounted two channel 7 day time clock (0v switching) KT806 Wall wireless room thermostat kit Typical controls by others xternal mounted simple two channel time clock providing, 0v switched supplies to time control heating and domestic hot water eg. typical Honeywell ST699 or similar Cylinder thermostat eg. typical Honeywell 6 or similar Room thermostat eg. typical Honeywell T660 or similar HTG and zone valves c/w a single end switch (closes on valve fully open) eg. Honeywell V0H or similar Wiring centre Y / W / S Plan - complete kits Other manufacturer s compatible OpenTherm time and temperature controls When fi tting the diverting valve on a priority system note the orientation of the ports i,e AB, A, and B, they may not be consistent with the instructions supplied with the valve.
When using the AVATA PUS Combi boiler, is always set for constant operation (not timed) but can if required be changed to allow for time restriction using a two channel time clock. If required the AVATA series can report a common alarm or boiler run condition to an external control panel or BMS by using the connections on terminal block X7. s and - Common alarm s and - Boiler run / external gas valve / external pump relay These are both volt free (max capacity 0v amp ) and are open contacts which close on common alarm or boiler run respectively (see Installation and Technical booklet for futher opions).
