Why Consider a Daikin VRV T-Series Water Cooed System? One Fexibe Package The Daikin VRV T-Series Water Cooed is a fexibe and moduar energy saving aternative to traditiona centraized equipment soutions such a Chied Water System or Water Source Heat Pumps (WSHP). The VRV T-Series Water Cooed provides a of the attributes of an Air-cooed VRV system such as ow sound eves, advanced comfort contro and zoning but with the added appication fexibiity for cod cimates, buidings with an existing water oop infrastructure or geotherma appications. The ong piping capabiities, sma refrigerant pipes, compact condensing unit size and abiity to take advantage of buiding diversity and 2-stage heat recovery provide great fexibiity in appying the soution to your buiding whether existing or new constructions. This aids in reducing the overa construction compexity compared to traditiona water based systems and heps optimize the tota cost of construction. VRV is buit upon 4 basic Buiding Bocks Condensing Unit, Indoor Unit, Piping, and Contros providing the attributes of a centra chied water system but with the simpicity of a spit system. This enhanced system offers energy-efficient and comfortabe cooing and heating for many types of appications such as offices, hotes, high-rise buidings and arge commercia appications. Condensing Unit Indoor Unit Piping Contros VRV T-Series Water Cooed Main Features Fexibe System design with increased diversity up to 150%* Can be appied to both geotherma and boier/tower appications as standard with condenser water inet temperature as ow as 14 F* in heating and 23 F* in cooing is possibe Tripe-stack capabe to deiver up to 36 tons in just under 11 feet ceiing height thanks to the compact design * Conditions/rues appy. What is Daikin VRV T-Series Water Cooed? Overview The VRV T-Series Water Cooed offers an energy saving aternative to traditiona centraized equipment. The system design is based on a moduar design concept. It is composed of unified condensing units that require simpy connecting a 2-pipe refrigerant network for heat pump appications or a 3-pipe refrigerant network for heat recovery appications. The condensing units are convenienty compact, which not ony enabes transport by eevator possibe, but aso effectivey simpifies instaation in mechanica rooms. This aso saves Geotherma Appication The VRV T-Series Water Cooed system can connect to a geotherma water oop as standard, which makes it one of the most energy-efficient air-conditioning systems avaiabe in the market. Underground temperatures remain reativey constant a year round. They are warmer than the air above it during the winter and cooer than the air above it during the summer. COMMERCIAL a great dea of time and abor abor when compared to traditiona water based equipment. VRV Water Cooed systems are equivaent to 2-pipe or 4-pipe chied water systems, but aso offer a viabe aternative to Water-Source Heat Pump soutions. Each connected Indoor Unit can provide heating and cooing independenty to suit zone requirements making these systems suitabe for both open pan, or ceuar appications with different operation requirements. VRV Water Cooed systems are capabe of utiizing this constant temperature by exchanging heat with the earth through a ground heat exchanger. This heps reduce the oad on the compressor and provides substantia energy savings over traditiona cooing tower/boier instaations. Standard Operation (Cooing Tower/Dry Cooer, Boier) Geotherma Appication 2 3 1 6 5 4 3 3 5 1 Cooing Tower or Dry Cooer 2 Boier 3 Indoor Units 4 Refrigerant Pipes 5 Condensing Units 6 Water Loop Piping Why seect a VRV T-Series Water Cooed System? The efficiency and capacity of air-cooed systems reduce at extreme ambient conditions, causing systems to be oversized and increasing initia cost. Water cooed VRV operation is not affected by outside air temperatures. Geotherma energy can be used to heat and coo your buiding, which can hep you gain more LEED points. Extreme piping engths in appications such as high-rise buidings cause capacity reductions. Positioning water cooed condensing units foor-by-foor reduces the capacity reduction and improves the system efficiency. Water cooed VRV systems typicay require ess base refrigerant charge than that of a simiar air-cooed VRV system and thus can be used in appications with imited aowabe refrigerant within the buiding. Condensing units can be inked to existing water piping and utiize the existing heat source to reduce initia costs. No externa operation sound produced by condensing units to disturb your buiding neighbors since water cooed VRV systems are instaed indoors ony. 4

Features and Benefits Geotherma Operation and Advantages VRV T-Series Water Cooed can use akes, rivers and ground oops to take advantage of the Earth as a natura heat sink or heat source, eiminating the need for equipment such as boiers, cooing towers, or dry cooers. Extended Water Temperature Operation Range Condenser water inet temperature can be as ow as 23 F in cooing and 14 F in heating. Pease note that gyco usage is required when entering condenser water temperature is beow 50 F. Pease refer to Engineering Manua for further detais. 14ºF 50ºF 95ºF 113ºF Standard Geotherma Heating (EWT) 23ºF 50ºF 113ºF Standard Geotherma Cooing (EWT) Variabe Water Fow Contro Condensing unit can contro water contro device such as an inverter pump or moduating vave via 2-9V signa based on capacity requirement. This increases waterside system operationa efficiencies by reducing the water fow when possibe. Variabe Water Fow Vave Inverter Pump Fow Vave Input Signa Indoor instaation makes unit invisibe from the outside Because the system is water cooed, outside air temperature does not affect system capacity. Condensing units are instaed inside the buiding, which enhances design fexibiity and makes it easier to adapt to different buidings types. Great soution for sound sensitive environments as there is no noise mitigation outside to disturb buiding neighbors Superior efficiency, even in the most extreme outside conditions, especiay in geotherma operation Heat Rejection Canceation Technoogy Engineered with heat rejection canceation technoogy to minimize heat addition to mechanica rooms* * This function needs to be enabed through fied settings. This has a dramatic impact on power consumption and heps improve energy efficiency. Stage 1: Heat recovery between indoor units in the same refrigerant circuit avaiabe on heat recovery units. Heat rejected from indoor units in cooing mode is transferred to units in areas requiring heating. This waste heat utiization eads to maximizing energy efficiency and reducing eectricity costs. Stage 2: Heat recovery between condensing units via the water oop avaiabe on both heat pump and heat recovery units. Second stage heat recovery is achieved within the water oop between condensing units, reducing the use of cooing tower/boier for more energy efficiency.
