1. Description Sanichasse is a WC-suite with a 6 litre flush and built-in pump macerator. Handwash-basin and shower can also be connected. However the inlet is at the back of the machine which may require the whole unit to be pushed forward away from the wall. It pumps waste up to 5m vertically or 100m horizontally to soil stack or sewer, through 22mm (3/4 ) copper or cpvc pipework. Possible danger to personnel Warning of possible electrical hazard. Please also see 10 golden rules for correct Saniflo installation on www.saniflo.co.uk Attention Failure to comply with this instruction could endanger the safe functioning of the apparatus. 2. 5. Installation 1 2 3 Check what other sanitary appliances you wish to evacuate with the Sanichasse and plan the layout of the site following the specifications on diagrams (fig 1) (fig 2) and (fig 3). >150 mm 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 25 37,5 cm 12 13 14 Fig 3 Water inlets for the various appliances Ensure that the discharge rate of the appliances connected (e.g. a power shower) does not exceed the evacuation rates as shown on diagrams (fig 7). Connection to drain Behind the Sanichasse point the discharge hose (mounted on elbows 25) in the right direction and connect it to a 22mm pipe (copper or CPVC) in one of the following configurations: Horizontal discharge (fig 10) The 22mm pipework needs a minimum 1:100 fall to the soil-stack or drain. Downwards discharge (fig 11) Where the final point of discharge is much lower than the Sanichasse, increase the bore of the discharge pipe to 32 or 40mm to avoid syphoning the water seal in the unit. Vertical discharge (fig 12) Any vertical lift (in 22mm pipework) must be made at the start of the pipe-run. After the highest point there should be a minimum 1:100 fall using 32mm or 40mm pipework. We recommend fitting a drain valve, to enable the vertical pipe to be drained in the event of possible service. Installations below sewer level (fig 13) The 22mm pipe (fig 14) A seperate piperun is normally required from the unit to the soil stack. Use machine pulled bends or two offset bends in series. We do not recommend use of 90 elbows.
6. Standard The Sanichasse is certified by the British Board of Agreement. Société Française d Assainissement LA03-P20 220-240 V - 50 Hz - 550 W - IP44 7. Electrical connection The electrical installation should be carried out by a qualified person. All wiring must conform to BS7671, 1992 requirements for electrical installations. The Sanichasse requires a 220/240V single phase AC 50 Hz supply (UK specification). Do not connect the Sanichasse to a conventional plug and socket. It must be wired into a fused, unswitched, fixed wiring connector fitted with a 5 amp fuse. The Sanichasse has an earth wire. The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code: Brown Live Blue Neutral Green/Yellow Earth Warning: Ensure the electricity is turned OFF at the main switchboard before wiring to connector. All work on cable, pressure chamber and motor should only be carried out by a qualified Saniflo servicing agent, as special tools are required. UK 230/240V 50Hz. The unit should be installed so it is easily accessible/removable for possible maintenance. The unit should not be exposed to splashing in normal use. CANADA USA EUR CH GB 8. Test: Commissioning the unit The unit is installed, with or without hand wash basin and/or shower. Flush the cistern: The evacuation cycle lasts up to 15 seconds (depending on pumping height or distance). If longer, check that the discharge hose is not kinked. Run water through the hand wash basin and shower to check that plumbing and pipework are watertight. 9. Use and precautions A WC fitted with a Sanichasse does not require any special maintenance. Warning 1: The Sanichasse range should only be used for the evacuating of normal human waste, toilet paper and household WC cleansers. Damage may occur to the machine if the following are disposed of via the WC; Cotton wool, tampons, sanitary towels, wet wipes, kitchen towels, condoms as well as other fabric or hard objects. Solvents, acids and other chemicals can also cause damage to the unit, and will invalidate the warranty. Warning 2: In case of a long electrical shut off (vacation, strike, work being done on the electrical or water supply) close the water supply. 10. Care of your unit In order to remove scale and clean the macerator and the bowl, use a household descalent (like SANIFLO descaler). As a general rule, household disinfectants and bleaches designed for a normal WC are suitable for use with a Saniflo unit. Disconnect the macerator power supply. Pour an amount of descalent / bleach in the pan. Flush the WC once. Leave it to stand for 1 or 2 hours. Re-connect the macerator power supply. Rinse by operating the flushing system twice. Carry out the operation once every 3 months on average, but the frequency may need to be changed depending on the hardness of the water.
11. Servicing In the unlikely case of product malfunction, repairs may be done by yourself or by our authorized repair shops. For more information please call SFA customer service or call an authorized repair center. Warning - Always disconnect the electricity supply before attempting any work on the Sanichasse.
