CAUTION Heating elements may be hot, even though they are dark in color. During and after use, do not touch, or let clothing or other flammable materials near heating elements, or internal surfaces of oven until they have had sufficient time to cool. Other surfaces of the appliance may become hot enough to cause burns. Among these surfaces are the following: 1. Oven vent 2. Oven door trim 3. Oven door glass 4. Broiler pan and element shield 5. Bake element shield BROILING The oven is equipped with broiler shield above the broiler element. Pull the shield out about 4 as shown in the illustration. The shield will keep the door partially open. After broiling is complete, replace the broiler shield to the IN position by simply lifting the shield and pushing in. The broiler shield will be hot after use. Either wait an ample time to cool before handling or use an appropriate protective glove or cloth. NOTICE When the unit is in operation, the outside surface will become hot and care must be taken to avoid contact with panel surfaces. Slight smoke may come from the vent when oven is new. This is due to assembly oils and ceramic cement. The smoke will disappear after 5 to 10 minutes of use.

CLOCK / TIMER TO SET THE CLOCK: 1. Press the CLOCK button. SET TIME will be displayed 2. Turn the SET dial until the time of the day appears on the display. The dial can be turned clockwise or counter-clockwise. In a few seconds, the clock will automatically exit the SET TIME mode. SET 500 OFF 150 BAKE BROIL LIGHT TIMER 400 500 200 400 300 BROIL TO SET THE TIMER: 1. Press the TIMER button. SET TIME will be displayed 2. Turn the SET dial to set a desired length of time. Count down will begin in two seconds. 3. The ON in the TIMER ON display will be flashing when the count down is in progress. When the timer reaches the one minute mark, two short beeps will be emitted and the display will switch to seconds mode. The display will count down in second increments. When the set time is reached, three beeps of one second lengths will be emitted. Thereafter, two short beeps will be emitted every ten seconds to alert you. The TIMER button has to be pressed to terminate the beeping.

USE OF ALUMINUM FOIL Do not use aluminum foil in your oven to cover racks or the oven bottom. Aluminum foil may be used to line the bottom part of the two-piece broiler pan, but if foil is placed over the slotted broiler tray, care must be taken to slit the foil at each slot so that the drippings and excess grease can drain into the pan below. INSIDE OVEN AND BROILER Rack and broiler pan may be removed and cleaned in your sink with other cooking utensils. The inside surfaces of the oven are porcelain enamel and should be cleaned by the method given in the enamel section. Regular cleaning with a soft cloth and warm detergent solution is generally enough to keep your oven clean and beautiful. This is done when the oven is cool. Use a dry cloth or paper towel to clean splatters and spills when the surfaces are warm. GLASS SURFACE The glass window is built to stay FOG-FREE. To keep it clean, just wipe with a moist soft cloth and dry. CAUTION Do not clean the window with water while the oven is warm. The glass is strong but radical heat changes or a sharp blow will crack it. Use care in cleaning. PORCELAIN ENAMEL Porcelain enamel is glass fused on steel at very high temperature. It is not extremely delicate but must be treated as glass. Sharp blows, radical change in temperature, etc. will cause the enamel to chip or crack. Some foods contain acid that will dull the finish of enamel. Vinegar, lemon juice, tomatoes, and milk are a few. To avoid this happening simply wipe the surface clean immediately when any food is spilled on the enamel. Remember, the surface is glass and must be given consideration in cleaning. Steel-wool pads and coarse gritty cleansers will scratch and wear down the surface. Any gentle kitchen cleansing powder or chemical grease remover will do a good job and yet not harm the finish.

SAFETY PRECAUTIONS TO BE OBSERVED WHEN USING YOUR OVEN In case of future emergency, know where the main oven electric circuit breaker is located. Have the installer show you where the breaker is and how to reset it. Use the oven only for cooking. It will work better and longer if treated with care and used as intended. Do not overload the appliance. Do not operate an oven that is partially disassembled or when some part is missing or broken. Keep your range clean and in good repair. Repairs to your oven should only be done by qualified personnel. Attempts to repair you oven by others could result in damage or injury. Use preventative measures to avoid injury to children. Do not leave small children unattended near an oven when the oven is in use. As children mature enough to learn, instruct them in the safe, correct use of an oven. Remember your oven is a cooking device and some parts will get hot. Train yourself to avoid the hot surfaces. CARE AND CLEANING CHROME AND STAINLESS STEEL The best way to clean metal surfaces on your oven is to wipe them with a damp cloth, then dry thoroughly. Stubborn spots caused by spillage and discoloration from heat may be removed by the use of lemon juice, vinegar, or chrome polish. Care must be used to keep these cleaners away from the porcelain enamel surfaces. NEVER use coarse cleaners, steel-wool scouring pads or metal brushes to clean chrome. These will make deep scratches on chrome. These scratches cannot be removed.
