Field of View Description The IntelliSight Sensing Dimmer has a 170 field of view (with no masking). In some installations, it may be required to limit the optical field of view of the sensor. To do this, the lens of the sensor can be partially masked to block those areas where detection is not desired. The sensor is supplied with custom labels for the optional detection angles: 170 detection area (no masking) 120 detection area (short masking) 90 detection area (medium masking) 60 detection area (long masking) To apply the field of view masking labels: 1. Select and remove the desired label from the supplied adhesive sheet. 2. Apply to the side of the lens where detection is to be masked by aligning the edge of the label with the outer edge of the lens. 3. Complete the label application by rolling a finger over the label from the edge toward the center of the lens. With the label properly applied to the lens, the sensor will not detect movement outside the desired area. Figure 8: Masking Ganging Information The IntelliSight Sensing Dimmer is designed with a strap style mounting plate. This device can be mounted in a multigang wall box with other strap design devices from Lightolier Controls and other manufacturers, if desired. The fins on the strap may be left in tact or they may be removed to allow placement in a multi-gang box. If the fins are removed, slight power derating is necessary. The power rating of the sensor is shown in the following chart: Power Rating 120 VAC 277 VAC o Fins Broken 1000 Watts 1000 Watts One Fin Broken 800 Watts 800 Watts Two Fins Broken 600 Watts 600 Watts OTE: For additional information on derating in general, refer to the Lightolier Controls Product Selection Guide. This product guide will present many faceplate options including options to have no fins broken in multi-gang applications. The IntelliSight Occupancy Sensing Dimmers are designer-style, multiple technology wall mounted devices. Each unit has an automatic shut-off feature and provides multi-location on/off (3-way) control when used with a Lightolier Controls ITSRB3 3-Way Remote. The IntelliSight Occupancy Sensing Dimmers use multiple patented and proprietary technologies to enable optimum performance. The sensors use multiple detection technologies to properly determine if the space is occupied or vacant. Additionally, these devices have inherent intelligence that allows more accurate behavior for many conditions. Multiple detection technologies for accurate occupancy sensing and elimination of false triggering. Bi-level operation - occupancy sensor comes on to a user-defined (dimmed) preset or to full. While holding the SET button, release the UP button. Press UP or DOW to select the desired photosensitivity (light) level. OTE: The lowest LED level (1) disables this feature. The higher the LED level, the more ambient light that will be required to inhibit the lights being turned on. 3. When the appropriate setting is chosen, release the SET button to save the setting. OTE: The factory default setting for the Manual Photocell (Ambient Light Level) Sensitivity is disabled. Automatic Set Photocell (Ambient Light Level) Sensitivity The photo eye (photocell) in the sensor can be instructed to measure an ambient light level in the space and store this level in its memory to prevent the sensor from automatically turning on the lights if the light level in the space is at or higher than the stored level. This is mainly applicable to spaces that have windows that allow exterior light in the space. To enable the automatic set photo sensitivity feature, do the following: 1. Press the SET button, then immediately press UP (refer to Figure 7 on page 10). After three seconds, you will hear an audible sound indicating you are in the Sensor Sensitivity Setting Mode. Continue to hold both the SET button and the UP for a total of 10 seconds. A second tone will sound, indicating the sensor is now in the Photo Sensitivity Mode. 2. While holding the SET button, Press UP until the LED moves to the very top position of the LED light bar. 3. Press UP one additional time - the LED will disappear. 4. Release all buttons and step away from the sensor to allow the sensor to clearly see the entire space. 5. The unit shall count down (LED will move down the LED Bar Graph) for 4 seconds. 6. The sensor switch will turn off the lights momentarily to capture and store the light level in the space. The unit will then return to its previous state (turning on the lights). OTE: Whenever the light level drops below the stored level and the unit detects occupancy, the sensor will automatically turn on the lights (in Automatic Mode only). If the light level is above the stored level and the sensor detects occupancy, it will not turn on the lights in Automatic Mode. OTE: The factory default setting for the Automatic Photocell (Ambient Light Level) Sensitivity is disabled. - ITSDU Models (cont.) Figure 5: ITSEBU The IntelliSight Sensing Dimmer time-off delay can operate in four different modes. The default is Manual Mode, which means the fixed time delay (as set by the user) is always used. The remaining three modes are within the Automatic Mode setting to adjust the unit to the space and occupancy patterns, differing in how aggressive the sensor is with saving energy. Conservative Mode will automatically adjust the time-off between 5 to 30 minutes (default is 15 minutes). ormal Mode will automatically adjust the time-off between 1 and 15 minutes (default is 1 minute) for enhanced energy savings. Aggressive Mode will automatically adjust the time off delay between 30 seconds to 3 minutes for maximum energy savings. To make these settings, do the following: 1. While the lights are On, press and hold the SET button for ten seconds (refer to Figure 7 on page 10). The sensor will beep at three seconds and then again at ten seconds indicating you are now in the Logic/Timer Mode menu. 2. LED 1 (on the left-hand LED bar graph) indicates Manual Mode (factory default), LED 2 indicates Conservative Mode, LED 3 indicates ormal Mode, and LED 4 indicates Aggressive Mode. Press UP or DOW to change the setting. 3. When the proper mode is chosen, release the SET button to save the setting. OTE: The factory default is Manual Mode (Fixed Time Delay). Time Delay (Manual Mode) The time interval after detection before lights are turned off can be adjusted. Due to the increased sensitivity, selectivity, and accuracy, shorter times might be necessary. The time interval can be adjusted from 30 seconds to 30 minutes. (The factory default delay is 15 minutes.) To adjust the time-out delay, do the following: 1. Make sure unit is On and Logic/Timer Mode is set to Manual Mode. 2. Press and hold the SET button (refer to Figure 7 on page 10). Immediately press the DOW button. 3. After three seconds, an audible signal will sound indicating the sensor is in the LED Time Time Delay Mode. 8 30 Min. 4. While holding the SET button, release the DOW button. Current setting will be 7 25 Min. indicated by the LED bar graph according to the chart at the right. 6 20 Min. 5. Ring Tone Selection The IntelliSight Sensing Dimmer has several different audible alert signals that can be chosen. These tones alert the user that the unit is going to turn off the lights when it detects vacancy and is near its programmed time-off delay setting. To change the setting, do the following: 1. Press and hold the SET button for three seconds (refer to Figure 7 on page 10). 2. After three seconds, the bar graph LEDs will light to indicate which of the ring tones (or tone off) is selected. If the tone is not disabled (LED 1), then the tone will play. 3. To change the tone, press the UP or DOW button. 4. At each selection, the tone will play and the LED display will change to indicate which setting is chosen. 5. When an acceptable tone (or tone off) is chosen, release the SET button to save the setting. OTE: The factory default is Tone umber 1. Forced Air Gap For circuit maintenance or some operational conditions such as media presentations, it may be required to prevent the sensor from automatically turning on. To force the air gap (off) setting, do the following: 1. While the lights (dimmer) are Off, simply press and hold the DOW button for three seconds (refer to Figure 7 on page 10). 2. After three seconds, an audible signal will sound and all LEDs will turn off indicating the sensor is in the Forced Air Gap Mode. While in this mode, automatic triggering will not turn on the device. 3. To restore normal operation, press UP for one second to turn the lights back On. 4. For safety, during lamp maintenance, take appropriate steps to ensure the sensor is not accidentally turned On. OTE: Forced Air Gap Mode will work in either Automatic or Manual Mode. Forced Air Gap is different than a normal Off in that automatic detection will restore lighting after a normal Off. - ITSEBU Models (cont.) Multi-Location (3-Way) Remote The IntelliSight ITSEBU Occupancy Sensing Dimmer will work with the dedicated Lightolier Controls ITSRB3 3-Way Remote. It is a designer-style, multi-location device that uses existing 3-way wiring to control the on/off commands for any IntelliSight Occupancy Sensing Dimmer. The remote device will function the same as the UP and DOW on the sensor device. OTE: A regular three-way switch should OT be used to control an IntelliSight Sensing Dimmer. Doing so may damage and, in turn, void the unit s warranty.
