EXIDE AT-A-GLANCE History of Innovation 1898 1912 1941 Exide batteries provide the submerged power for the U.S. Navy s first modern commissioned submarine, the USS Holland (SS-1). In an effort to eliminate dangerous hand-cranked engine starting, Cadillac becomes the first battery-started internal combustion car. Exide batteries supplied power for lighting and ignition. Battle Tested, Military Approved. Through WWII, Exide supplied submarine batteries to the U.S. Navy, in addition to other tank and fleet vehicles. 1992 Exide introduced free electrolyte and gel batteries, climate-tailored batteries and maintenance-free technology for various marine applications. 1999 2007 Exide introduced the cylindrically-wound Exide Orbital technology into the automotive and specialty battery markets. Advanced solutions for motive power applications an on-board hybrid hydrogen fuel cell and battery energy system for the materials handling market. 2008 2009 2010 The Company s Sonnenschein network power batteries provided the power for a cell tower at the 6,500 meter level of Mount Everest during the Olympic torch summit ascent. A photovoltaic electrical system at a remote village in Kenya, Africa, generates and stores renewable energy from the sun. SunPower solar panels and Exide Absolyte batteries power the village s school, laptop computers and cell phone charging station. Starting Positive, Staying Positive Exide launched the Exide High Frequency (EHF) Series industrial charger for standard-flooded, lowmaintenance-flooded and VRLA motive power batteries. 2012 Exide launches their Edge AGM product line in the Americas as the first & only absorbed glass mat stored energy solution - lasting energy, maximum durability and a faster re-charge for continued high performance. 2016 Powering the World Forward History and scale, combined with a start-up mentality, make Exide the right choice for customers who want more than simply a battery supplier. page 3

KEY EXECUTIVES Victor M. Koelsch PRESIDENT & CEO Victor M. (Vic) Koelsch is President and Chief Executive Officer of Exide Technologies, a global provider of stored electrical-energy solutions for transportation and industrial markets. He also is a member of the Exide Board of Directors. With nearly 30 years of experience in worldwide industrial and technology businesses, Mr. Koelsch joined Exide in 2015 from the Michelin Group. His tenure at Michelin spanned nearly 15 years, most recently serving as Executive Vice President; Chief Operating Officer for Michelin Americas Commercial Tires; President of Michelin s Worldwide Original Equipment Business Unit; and Michelin Group s Vice President and Global Chief Information Officer. Prior to his time with the Michelin Group, Mr. Koelsch held management positions with Boston Scientific, Compaq Computer Corporation and IBM. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Oklahoma and holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Houston. Tony Genito EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER Tony Genito is Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Exide Technologies, a global provider of stored electrical-energy solutions for transportation and industrial markets. Mr. Genito directs the global Finance and Internal Audit functions for the Company and also provides advice and support to the Audit Committee of the Company s Board of Directors. He joined Exide in 2015 bringing more than 35 years of financial and executive leadership experience, with expertise in international operations and a deep commitment to identifying and executing on long-term financial priorities and objectives. Prior to joining the Company, Mr. Genito served as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Accounting Officer at Spectrum Brands Holdings Inc. Mr. Genito served at Schering- Plough Corporation in various financial management positions and began his career at Deloitte & Touche. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Mercy College and a Master of Business Administration from Pace University. page 5

KEY EXECUTIVES Leslie W. Joyce, Ph.D. EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT & CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER Leslie W. Joyce, Ph.D., is Executive Vice President and Chief People Officer of Exide Technologies, a global provider of stored electrical-energy solutions for transportation and industrial markets. Since joining Exide in 2015, Dr. Joyce is responsible for directing Human Resources activities across Exide s worldwide operations including the areas of talent management, leadership and organizational development; compensation and benefits; and employee relations. She also provides advice and support for the Compensation and Nominating Committee of the Company s Board of Directors. Dr. Joyce brings more than 30 years of diverse Human Resources experience to her role at Exide. Prior to joining the Company, she served at Novelis Inc. as the Senior Vice President, Chief People Officer. Before her tenure at Novelis, Leslie was Vice President and Chief Learning Officer for The Home Depot. Earlier in her career, Dr. Joyce held positions of increasing responsibility with GlaxoSmithKline. She is an active member of a number of professional Boards and associations including the National Academy of Nuclear Training, the Human Resources Leadership Forum, and the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology. Dr. Joyce holds a Ph.D. in Industrial- Organizational Psychology from North Carolina State University. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Brad S. Kalter EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, GENERAL COUNSEL & CORPORATE SECRETARY Brad Kalter is the Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary of Exide Technologies, a global provider of stored electrical-energy solutions for transportation and industrial markets. Mr. Kalter has more than 20 years of experience as a practicing attorney, the last 12 working at Exide. He has served as Exide s Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since 2009 and as Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary since 2006. In these roles, he had global responsibilities for corporate governance, SEC compliance, subsidiary management, contract management and the intellectual property portfolio. He started his Exide career in 2003 as an Assistant General Counsel. Prior to joining Exide, Mr. Kalter served as General Counsel at Cotton States Insurance Group and began his career in private practice serving a variety of clients. Mr. Kalter is a graduate of Emory University School of Law and a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Communications. page6

KEY EXECUTIVES Sean Burke CHIEF INFORMATION & DIGITAL OFFICER Sean Burke is Chief Information and Digital Officer of Exide Technologies, a global provider of stored electrical-energy solutions. Mr. Burke joined Exide in 2016 and leads the Exide global Information Technology (IT) team, driving digitization of functional processes, customer integration and product offerings. He is responsible for global infrastructure services including data centers, wide area networks, and the end user workplace environment and IT security. Mr. Burke has more than 20 years of experience in developing and implementing long-term business and IT strategies on a global basis. He joined Exide Technologies from the Michelin Group, where he served from 2013 to 2016 as Chief Technology Officer. Prior to Michelin, Mr. Burke served as Chief Technology Officer for LaFarge S.A. From 1999 to 2008, he served as Chief Information Officer for the international pharmaceutical company Galderma S.A. Mr. Burke holds a Bachelor of Science degree (Hons) in Physics from the University of Surrey, in the UK. Michael Ostermann EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT, PRESIDENT EXIDE EMEA Michael Ostermann is Executive Vice President and President Exide EMEA for Exide Technologies, a global provider of stored electrical-energy solutions for transportation and industrial markets. Mr. Ostermann leads the Transportation EMEA and Industrial EMEA operating divisions and also is responsible for the Company s Asia-Pacific operations. Mr. Ostermann joined Exide in 2009 and brings a broad range of automotive industry and operations experience to his position at Exide. While at Frauenthal Holding AG, he served in a number of capacities, including Management Board Member and Managing Director with full divisional responsibility for the Company s Automotive Components sector. Prior to his three years at Frauenthal, he held a number of positions at Styria. Mr. Ostermann holds a Machine Construction Degree with a focus on manufacturing technology and a Diplom-Ingenieur from Fachhochschule (University of Applied Sciences) in Düsseldorf, Germany.
