Article 1 General 1.01 SYSTEM DESCRIPTION LG s Multi V Controls Network is the integrated controls platform for LG s Multi V Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) systems. The customizable Multi V Controls Network allows the level of control to match the needs of the building and its occupants. Multi V Controls Network offers several controller options for the occupant(s) of the space, central controller options for facilities management personnel, application controllers for third party equipment control, and BACnet and LonWork interfaces for integration with Building Management Systems (BMS). 1.02 QUALITY ASSURANCE A. The units shall be manufactured in a facility registered to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, which are environmental protection standards set by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). B. All wiring shall be in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC). C. The units shall be listed by Electrical Testing Laboratories (ETL) and bear the ETL label. 1.03 STORAGE AND HANDLING A. All LG VRF controllers shall be stored and protected from weather, extreme temperature, etc., as suggested by the manufacturer. All LG VRF controllers shall be moved, lifted, etc., as suggested by the manufacturer. 4

Article 2 Limited Warranty 2.01 LG Air Conditioner Controls and Accessories shall be warranted by the manufacturer s limited warranty for replacement of malfunctioning components and specific software upgrades to meet application engineering needs for one (1) year from the date of original retail purchase. 2.02 The VRF system shall be installed by a licensed mechanical contractor trained by the VRF equipment manufacturer or installation professional. 2.03 Commissioning shall be performed by the manufacturer or installation professional. 5

Article 3 Remote Controllers 3.01 LG MULTISITE CRC1 REMOTE CONTROLLER: PREMTBVC0 The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall be capable of controlling up to 16 indoor units (1 group). The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall be capable of monitoring and controlling the group in terms of On/Off, Mode of Operation, Airflow direction, Fan Speed, space temperature, and space temperature Set Point based on the available functions of the connected system. Additionally the MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall be capable of providing 7 day programmable scheduling of Occupied/Unoccupied settings, On/Off, Mode of operation, Set Point and Fan Speed. MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controllers shall be capable of communicating via the BACnet MS/TP protocol and the ability to communicate with wireless sensors using a ZigBee Pro Wireless Sensor network. 1. MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controllers shall communicate to the VRF indoor unit via the indoor unit remote controller communication bus. 2. MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controllers shall be able to communicate with a BMS using BACnet MS/TP protocol. 3. MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controllers shall have the ability to communicate with wireless sensors using a ZigBee Pro Wireless Sensor network. 4. MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controllers shall have a touch screen, backlit, LCD display with screen saver capability. 5. The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall support the ability to display or hide user accessible functions from the home screen. 6. The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall have an internal time clock and calendar. 7. The MultiSITE CRC1 shall support the creation of five scheduled events per day. 8. A user of the MultiSITE CRC1 shall be able to create a scheduled event on a single page. 9. The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall be able to provide a summary view of currently applied schedules. 10. The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall be able to display temperature in F or C based on user settings and shall be able to be configured in either F or C for all functions. 11. The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall support and allow the scheduling of dual Set Point Auto operation in both occupied and unoccupied settings. 12. The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall have configuration menus based on roles: Building Manager, Installer, BMS Configuration and Basic Diagnostics. 6

13. The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall have a function code search capability. 14. The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall be able to enable or dis able Auxiliary Heat and Emergency Heat and be able to assign the primary heat source. (Aux heat kit required.) 15. The MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controller shall be able to monitor and control up to 16 indoor units as a single group using the Group Control Wiring kit. 16. MultiSITE CRC1 Remote Controllers shall be able to initiate a Power Cooling Mode if supported by the available functions of the connected system. C. Power shall be 12 VDC. 3.03 LG MULTISITE CRC1 SERIES ZIGBEE PRO WIRELESS MODULE: ZVRCZPWC1 The ZigBee Pro Wireless module allows the MultiSITE CRC1 and CRC1+ Remote Controllers to support a 2.4 GHz wireless mesh network. This approach provides the flexibility to add network communication strategies as budgets allow, or as building management needs change. The MultiSITE CRC1 Series Remote Controller in conjunction with ZigBee sensors provide occupancy status allowing the implementation of advanced control sequences for HVAC equipment and other connected systems. 1. The ZigBee Pro Wireless module shall support communication with a Door/Window Switch sensor. 2. The ZigBee Pro Wireless module shall support communication with a Ceiling Mounted Occupancy Sensor that can toggle the status of the connected indoor unit between occupied and un occupied. 3. The ZigBee Pro Wireless module shall support communication with a Wall Mounted Occupancy Sensor that can toggle the status of the connected indoor unit between occupied and un occupied. C. MULTISITE CRC1 SERIES ZIGBEE PRO WIRELESS MODULE Functions: 10

The Wireless Module shall derive power from the remote controller to which it is attached. The remote controller shall be powered via the indoor unit remote controller communication bus. Power shall be 12 VDC. 3.04 LG MULTISITE CRC1 SERIES CEILING MOUNTED OCCUPANCY SENSOR: ZVRCZCOC1 The Ceiling Mounted Occupancy Sensor is a ZigBee Pro Wireless sensor that can toggle the status of the connected indoor unit between occupied and un occupied. The ZigBee Pro Module is required to enable the MultiSITE Remote Controller s ZigBee Pro Mesh network. The MultiSITE CRC1 Series Remote Controller in conjunction with ZigBee Pro Ceiling Mounted Occupancy Sensor provides occupancy status that allows the implementation of advanced control sequences for HVAC equipment and other connected systems. 4. The Ceiling Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall support wireless communication to the ZigBee Pro Wireless module over a 2.4GHz wireless mesh network. 5. The Ceiling Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall be battery powered. 6. The Ceiling Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall operate between 14 F and 122 F. 7. The Ceiling Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall operate between 0% and 95% RH noncondensing. C. MULTISITE CRC1 SERIES CEILING MOUNTED OCCUPANCY SENSOR Functions: Detection Occupancy Status X Available functions/features may differ based on connected systems and sensors. D. Electrical: 1. The Ceiling Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall derive power from 2 (1.5VDC Alkaline) AAA batteries that can last up to 5 years. 11

3.05 LG MULTISITE CRC1 SERIES WALL MOUNTED OCCUPANCY SENSOR: ZVRCZWOC1 The Wall Mounted Occupancy Sensor is a ZigBee Pro Wireless sensor that can toggle the status of the connected indoor unit between occupied and un occupied. The ZigBee Pro Module is required to enable the MultiSITE Remote Controller s ZigBee Pro Mesh network. The MultiSITE CRC1 Series Remote Controller in conjunction with ZigBee Pro Wall Mounted Occupancy Sensor provides occupancy status that allows the implementation of advanced control sequences for HVAC equipment and other connected systems. 1. The Wall Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall support wireless communication to the ZigBee Pro Wireless module over a 2.4GHz wireless mesh network. 2. The Wall Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall be battery powered. 3. The Wall Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall operate between 14 F and 122 F. 4. The Wall Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall operate between 0% and 95% RH noncondensing. C. MULTISITE CRC1 SERIES WALL MOUNTED OCCUPANCY SENSOR Functions: Detection Occupancy Status X Available functions/features may differ based on connected systems and sensors. D. Electrical: 1. The Wall Mounted Occupancy Sensor shall derive power from 1 (3.0VDC Lithium) CR2 battery that can last up to 5 years. 3.06 LG MULTISITE CRC1 SERIES DOOR/WINDOW SWITCH SENSOR: ZVRCZDWS1 The Door/Window Switch Sensor is a ZigBee Pro Wireless sensor that can indicate to the connected indoor unit whether a door or window is open or closed. The ZigBee Pro Module is required to enable the MultiSITE Remote Controller s ZigBee Pro Mesh network. The MultiSITE CRC1 Series Remote Controller in conjunction with ZigBee Pro Door/Window Switch Sensor provides open or closed status that allows the 12

implementation of advanced control sequences for HVAC equipment and other connected systems. 1. The Door/Window Switch Sensor shall support wireless communication to the ZigBee Pro Wireless module over a 2.4GHz wireless mesh network. 2. The Door/Window Switch Sensor shall be battery powered. 3. The Door/Window Switch Sensor shall operate between 14 F and 122 F. 4. The Door/Window Switch Sensor shall operate between 0% and 95% RH noncondensing. C. MULTISITE CRC1 SERIES DOOR/WINDOW SWITCH SENSOR Functions: Detection Open or Closed Status X Available functions/features may differ based on connected systems and sensors. D. Electrical: 1.
