Case Study Melbourne School of Design Building Faculty of Architecture, Melbourne University Architects: John Wardle Architects, Melbourne NADAA, Boston, USA The building is a large-scale laboratory for built environment education and research, setting a new standard for design education in the Asia-Pacific region. The design has unique features such as the suspended studios, the flexible workspaces and the exposed Y-stairs. The Seatery were commissioned to provide upholstered seating for the building. The banquette seating they upholstered was in a block type style, with squares, rectangles and other odd geometric shapes, varying in size in a woollen fabric supplied by Kvadart Maharam.
