Simple Apparatus Intrinsically safe electrical equipment for use in Flammable atmospheres (zone 0, 1 or 2) must fulfil the requirements of EN 60079-0:2012 inkl. Amd. A11:2013 together with EN 60079-11:2012. The following components are considered as simple apparatus in accordance with EN 600079-11 clause 5.7: passive components, for example switches, junction boxes, resistors and simple semiconductor devices. Installation of Manoswitch - Conditions The Manoswitch can only be used as Simple Apparatus when installed in a system where it is supplied from a certified Intrinsically Safe safety barrier module (e.g. a Zener barrier) mounted in the safe area. The Manoswitch must be installed in accordance with the installation instructions specified in the Declaration of Conformity : Appendix A, Ex-Calculation Entity parameters for Manoswitch Ui: 28 [V], Ii: 100 [ma], Pi: 700 [mw], Ci: 0.2 [nf], Li: ~ 0 [mh] The chosen barrier module must match these entity parameters. Marking of Simple Apparatus In accordance with EN 60079-14:2014, Clause 16.4 (covering Installation of equipment for explosives atmospheres), Simple Apparatus must be clearly identifiable by durable marking. Labelling of simple apparatus may be done by e.g. the manufacturer of the equipment and should make it possible to clearly identify the equipment as Simple Apparatus and furthermore a reference to the correct installation may also be made.
