Your improved recycling collection service From May 2016, additional features to your household waste and recycling collection service are being rolled out. In Southend-on-Sea, we currently recycle around half 60% of our household waste. However, we want to achieve by 2018. To help reach this target, the improved recycling service is introducing a new collection service for your paper and card. We are also introducing a four-day collection week which will reduce the disruption caused to collection services due to bank holidays. Not everyone s collection day will change. All recycling and waste collection services including food, pink sacks and the new paper and card service will be collected on the same day. Further information about the four-day collection week can be found at: From next week, your scheduled collection day will be Friday
