SPECIFICATIONS 1. Packaged Rooftop unit - The contractor shall furnish and install a FLEXAIR packaged Rooftop unit from LENNOX, or an equivalent unit. - The unit shall be operating with R410A HFC-based refrigerant in a MultiScroll compressor technology circuit to provide high efficiency at maximum but also part load. - The unit shall be designed and installed in strict accordance with this specification. - The unit shall be certified and rated in accordance with Eurovent standard (when applicable). - The unit shall be designed to be integrated into urban or residential environments. - The unit shall offer possibility to automatically vary the ventilation airflow rate during unoccupied period or at part load. 2. Refrigeration circuit - MultiScroll compressor technology to provide best efficiency at maximum but also part load conditions. - R410A HFC-based refrigerant. - Electronic expansion valve for a better regulation whatever the load conditions or temperature conditions. - Double circuit to optimize regulation, efficiency and life cycle of the compressors and to maximize efficiency level depending of the load. - Dynamic defrost to launch defrost cycle only when it is required and not based on a timer in order to save energy. - Alternate defrost to defrost one circuit at a time and so reduce the cold air stream in small volumes. - Electronic control of the compressor discharge temperature. - Compressor motor protection device against high temperature or over current situations. - Crankcase heater. - Compressors mounted on high efficiency cellular polyurethane vibration absorbers. - Evaporator and condenser heat exchangers with high efficiency aluminium fins and copper pipes & collectors. - 10 000h Salt Spray Test certified condenser and evaporator coil protection for application close to the sea. - Filter drier. - Temperature sensors and pressure transducers. - Four-way valve (heat pump units only). - Leak-tight refrigerant circuit with brazing carried out under nitrogen by certified engineers. - Each refrigerant circuit shall be pressure and leak tested with a Hydrogen/Nitrogen mixture, and vacuumed before being charged with refrigerant. All units shall be then subjected to a complete functional and operational run test to guarantee perfect sealing before leaving the factory. 2
3. Supply fan - Variable speed centrifugal EC Plug-Fan supply fan to allow airflow rate variation according to the load or occupancy in the building. - Soft starter for smooth start-up when the unit is connected to textile ducts. - External Static Pressure (ESP) up to 600 Pa. 4. Condenser fan - Constant speed axial fan with low noise impact to the surroundings. - Protective grid to protect from injury. 5. Fresh Air - Motorized dampers on fresh air entrance and exhaust air. - Intelligent Fresh Air Management (patent 03 50616) to ensure an accurate fresh air entrance management. - G4+F7 filters on fresh air inlet. - Free-cooling/heating and night cooling to benefit from outdoor air conditions with no heat to activate the refrigeration system. 6. Exhaust air / Extraction - Gravity dampers on the exhaust air to avoid pressure surge of the building when the pressure drop in the return ductwork is low (<50Pa). - Power exhaust axial fan and gravity damper to avoid pressure surge of the building when the pressure drop in the return ductwork is between 50 and 150 Pa. - Extraction roofcurb with variable speed centrifugal EC Plug-Fan. For application with high pressure drops in the return ductwork. 7. Supply and exhaust configuration - Vertical Down or horizontal supply. - Vertical Down or horizontal exhaust. 8. Roofcurb - Adjustable roofcurb with possibility to correct a slope of up to 5% in all directions. 9. Auxiliary heater - The unit will be provided with one of the following auxiliary heater in order to propose an heating solution for cooling only units, decide energy source according to energy costs or extend heat pump operation (heat pump units only): - Modulating atmospheric gas burner with aluminized steel tubes. - 92% PCI efficiency. - 27mbar or 300 mbar operating pressure. - Natural gas - Modulating electric heater. - 6W/cm² resistances. - Thermal overload protection. 3
- Hot water coil. - 3-way valve for accurate regulation of the flow through the hot water coil and thus better temperature management. 10. Heat recovery module - The unit will be provided with a heat recovery energy solution in order to reduce the energy consumption in the building and thus reduce environmental impact and energy bill. - Rotary wheel heat exchanger on exhaust air. - G4 filter on fresh air inlet and prior to the heat exchanger on the exhaust of the heat recovery module. - By-pass to authorize free-cooling/heating and protect the unit against freezing. 11. Casing/Frame - Casing made of RAL 9003 (white) pre-painted aluminium steel sheet metal and a RAL3003 red stripe. - Rigid galvanized frame. - Unit lifting and handling via the base frame - State of the art design with hidden compressors, fans and pump for perfect architectural integration. - Side grid on condenser coil to protect the unit during transportation and against human aggressions. - Removable aluminium drain pan with slope. - M0 Double-wall insulation on doors, ceiling and panels in contact with airflow. 12. Electrical box - Unit electrical cabinet, components and wiring in compliance with EN 60204-1 electrical directive. - 400V, 50 Hz, 3 phases power supply with a single point of power connection. - IP54 protection class. - Recognized brand electrical components for ease of maintenance. - Compressor and fans working contactors. - Main on/off switch mounted on the front panel. - Lockable door. - Numbered electrical wires to facilitate maintenance and diagnostic. 13. Control E Climatic microprocessor based control or equivalent control shall be providing with the following functions: - 7 scheduling time zones per day over 7 days to allow energy consumption and sound level management according to the building use and environmental constraints. - Up to 4 operating conditions selection per time zone. - Dynamic defrost to limit the number and the duration of the defrost cycles in winter for high performance of the unit (Dynamic Defrost patented). - Alternate defrost to defrost one circuit at a time and thus reduce cold air steam in small volumes. - Choice to regulate on ambient temperature or supply temperature. - Dirty Filter alarm to warn and plan cleaning maintenance in order to reduce energy consumption. - CO2 sensor to monitor air quality level and adjust load according to occupancy. - Smoke detectors and fire thermostat. - Enthalpy and humidity control. - Suction pressure and temperature reading on display. - Condensing pressure reading on display. - Liquid temperature reading on display. 4
- Superheating and subcooling reading on display. - Alarm monitoring and direct reading on display up to 32 alarms. - Energy meter with possible BMS connection in order to know consumption in cooling mode, heating mode and operating time counter. - Master/slave or cascade control of 2, up to 8 packaged Rooftop unit operating in parallel with operating time equalization and automatic change-over in case of a unit fault (possibility to extend to 24 units). - To control one packaged Rooftop unit, a DC or equivalent distance comfort display should be provided and mounted in the building with the following features: On/Off, Time setting, Setpoint adjustment or offset to setpoint, Cooling/Heating Mode reading, Ambiant Air C reading, compressors/heaters/fans operation reading, Alarm codes & reset, Operating mode change (for the given time zone), Unit number reading, Outdoor Air C reading, Supply Air C reading, Ambiant Air Humidity % reading, Ambiant Air Quality ppm reading, Economiser Opening % reading. - To control up to 8 packaged Rooftop units, a DM or equivalent distance multi-rooftop display should be provided and mounted in the building with the same features as a DC60 plus: Heating & Cooling setpoint, Date setting, Time Zone setting, Operating Mode Temperature change. - A DS or equivalent service display should be provided to the service people with access to all settings. 14. Communication The control board shall be equipped with a RS485 serial communication port to allow remote management through communication bus. According to the wished communication protocol, our control board shall be able to be fitted with ModBUS, LonWorks or BacNET communication interface or Adalink supervision (options). The main control board shall have free dry contacts that allow remote control of the unit by wired cable: - Remote ON/OFF of the unit. - Remote alarm reset to re-start the unit. - Alarm or alert indications. - Free customer contact. 15. Directives The unit shall be built to meet European norms and standards & Eurovent certification performance standards. DI 97/23/CE Pressure Equipment Directive. DI 98/37/CE Machinery Directive.
