Care shuld be taken in case the surface temperature is still high. Pan sensr Each zne has a sensr n it, s it can detect the presence f a pan. The sensr is fine-tuned t detect a pan being placed n it. The pan shuld be ne size smaller than the nminal diameter f the zne. If after placing a pan n a cking zne and selecting that cking zne, a U shaped symbl appears n the cking zne indicatr, this means that the pan is either the incrrect size r shape. Or it culd be made frm a material that is inapprpriate fr use n an inductin zne hb. If a cking zne is selected but n pan is detected, the pan sensr system will check fr the presence f a pan apprximately every few secnds. If n pan is detected after 1 minute the hb will autmatically switch ff Yu shuld check that yur pans are suitable fr use n an inductin zne hb (see the pan manufacturer s trademark r instructins). 15

Ckware that is suitable fr an inductin hb The table belw shws ckware that is nrmally suitable fr use n an inductin zne hb:- Ckware Steel, enamelled steel Cast irn Stainless steel Aluminium, cpper, brass Glass, ceramic, prcelain Suitable Yes Yes Yes (if stated by the pan manufacturer) N N The bttm f the pans shuld be as flat and thick as pssible. Certain types f ckware may result in a nise being made when being used n an inductin zne hb. This des nt mean that there is an appliance fault. IMPORTANT: Yu shuld make sure that all pans are placed in the centre f the inductin zne that yu are using. The (pwer) bst functin T btain a faster and mre pwerful heating speed, the bster functin can be used fr any cking zne. Press the cking zne selectin buttn f the zne yu wish t use. When yu select a temperature using the slider cntrl, yu shuld select the highest temperature (the dt furthest t the right) which is labelled as Bster. The relevant cking zne indicatr will shw P t indicate that the functin has been activated. The bst functin will perate the chsen cking zne at maximum pwer fr 10 minutes. After this time, the cking zne will return t level 9 pwer setting. The bster functin can be used n every cking zne except the dual/flexi-zne. The bster functin can be de-activated by selecting the relevant zne and then selecting a new temperature frm 1 9, r by selecting 0 n the cntrl panel (lwest setting) t turn ff. 16

Switching n a dual circuit flexible cking zne The dual circuit cking znes enable yu t use the tw left (vertical) cking znes simultaneusly, creating ne large zne. This functin is particularly useful when using larger / val / rectangular r elngated pts and pans, but can als be used t ck with several smaller pts. Press ne f the dual zne selectin keys, and immediately after press the ther dual zne selectin key. The LED display f bth znes will begin t flash. Adjust the pwer in the usual way by using the pwer slider cntrl, and this will cntrl the pwer f bth znes simultaneusly. NOTE: If fr example yur pan is mved frm the frnt area f the dual zne t the rear f the dual zne, the flexible area autmatically detects the new psitin f the pan and will adjust the heating accrdingly whilst keeping the same pwer. When using the dual znes ckware shuld be placed as central as pssible and shuld ideally cver bth crsses. Switching ff a dual circuit zne Yu can turn ff the dual zne by the nrmal way f selecting (either zne) and reducing the pwer t 0 (r t anther temperature level). Yu can yu als separate the znes by first pressing the individual cking znes selectin buttn. When the LED displays begins t flash (fr bth znes), press either f the dual cking zne selectin buttns again, and this will select nly the cking zne yu have just pressed. 17

The hb timer (linked t a cking zne) Yu are able t link a cuntdwn time t a cking zne s that when the cuntdwn time has elapsed the cking zne will switch ff autmatically. Press the ON/OFF buttn t turn the hb n. Press the cking zne selectin buttn f the zne yu wish t use. Tuch either timer cntrl [7/8] (plus r minus buttns), and the digits will shw 00 in the timer display. Set the time by tuching the plus and minus buttns [7/8]. The display will shw the time yu have set. When yu are happy with the chsen time release all buttns. After 5 secnds f inactivity the time will be set and the cuntdwn will begin. NOTE: The red dt next t pwer level indicatr will illuminate indicating that the zne is selected. When cking timer expires, the crrespnding cking zne will be switch ff autmatically. IMPORTANT: All ther cking znes which are in use will cntinue t perate. 18

A red dt will appear next t the pwer level indicatr f the relevant zne. When yu set a cuntdwn time fr several znes simultaneusly, a red dt will appear in all the relevant zne indicatrs. The timer display will shw the lwest cuntdwn time and the crrespnding red dt will flash. (set t 15 minutes) (set t 45 minutes) When the set cuntdwn time has elapsed, the relevant cking zne will switch ff autmatically. If cuntdwn timers fr ther cking znes are set, the timer display will then shw the next lwest cuntdwn time and the crrespnding red dt will flash. WARNING: If any ther cking znes are in use, withut a cuntdwn timer set, they will cntinue heating. Yu will need t switch them ff manually when cking is cmplete. NOTE: Yu can silence the alarm by pressing any buttn. NOTE: yu can press and hld the timer buttns [7/8] which will mean that the time will scrll (change) mre rapidly. NOTE: the timer will display the last minute f the cuntdwn in secnds Changing the cuntdwn time T change the cuntdwn time, first select the desired zne, and then press the timer buttns [7/8]. The cuntdwn time will pause and yu can adjust the time as previusly described. After 5 secnds f inactivity the new cuntdwn time will begin. Cancelling a hb timer T cancel a hb timer, first select the zne that yu want t turn ff the timer, and then press the minus key t reduce the timer t 00. Alternatively, yu can press the plus ( + ) and minus ( - ) buttns simultaneusly fr a few secnds. 19

High temperature prtectin The hb is equipped with a temperature sensr which mnitrs the temperature inside f the appliance. If an unusually high temperature is detected the inductin hb will stp perating autmatically. 20

Cntrl panel prtectin If any key(s) is pressed cntinuusly fr mre than 10 secnds the hb tp switches ff autmatically. A warning beep sunds every 10 secnds while the key(s) is activated. Detectin f unknwn items When an unsuitably sized r nn-magnetic pan (e.g. aluminium), r sme ther small item (e.g. knife, frk, key) has been left n the hb, the hb will autmatically g n t standby mde after 1 minute. The fan may keep cling the inductin hb after it has been turned ff, depending n the temperature f the hb. The pause/resume buttn This feature allws the user t pause all cking peratins, and is particularly useful fr situatins such as answering the dr r telephne, r fr cleaning the cntrl panel withut changing the settings. Using this buttn will stp all znes frm heating and will als pause any active timers. All znes will display a circular LED (a running line ).
