CNNECINS CNNECINS Sensormatic Interface Connectors Eight -pin connectors on the rear of the 08/0 Code ranslator panel are used for transmitting and receiving codes with Sensormatic domes and J-boxes. he transmit () and receive (R) signal positions are labeled on each connector. Each connector is supplied with a mating screw terminal connector (see Figure ). HLD DWN SCREWS Data Line Connectors wo DAA LINE BNC connectors are provided on the rear panel, labeled IN and U. he IN is used to receive control codes from the 995 or the 996 CPU of the 050 systems. he U is a loop through connection. his line must be terminated in 75 ohms. Use a good grade RG-59U video cable for all connections. Note: When 995 or 050 systems with existing B/W/S Control Code interfaces are used, they can be connected to the 08/0 Control Code Connector, as shown in Figure 5 above. RS- Connectors R R R R INSER CNNECR HIS DIRECIN wo RS- connectors on the rear panel, labeled INPU and UPU, are provided for alarm interface connections. he output port is for connection to the switcher/control system alarm input ports or for cascading to another 08/0 unit's input port or a 096 Alarm Interface unit. he baud rate is set for these ports as shown in able, page. Figure - ypical Mating Screw Connector Control Code Connector he upper right connector on the rear of the 08/0 Code ranslator is a -pin connector. his is used to receive Control Code signals from 650 or 50 switcher units (B, W and S lines) and to provide access to an internal Form C alarm relay. When the 08/0 receives an alarm from any controlled Sensormatic receiver, the internal alarm relay closes. his relay can be used for turning accessories (VCR, etc.) on or off via its Normally pen (N) or Normally Closed (NC) terminals. he mating screw terminal connector is shown below (see Figure 5). PERAIN PERAIN Power Sources D N CNNEC HE EQUIPMEN A PWER SURCE UNIL READY "PWER UP''. Make all connections to the 08/0 code input and relay connections and set the DIP switches prior to power up. he 08/0 Code ranslator does not contain an n/ff Switch. he socket outlet shall be located near the equipment and shall be readily accessible. he 0 V units are supplied with a pendant -wire cord and plug for mating to the primary source outlet. he 0 V units are supplied with a Euro style IEC 0 type inlet. A suitable detachable cord should be connected between the IEC 0 inlet and the power source. he cord should be connected between the IEC 0 inlet and the power source. he cord should conform to all national and local use code requirements. A green PWER LED indicator located on the rear panel illuminates when power is applied. Code ranslators are available in two models, depending on the power source to be used: AD08/0 0VAC, 50/60 Hz ADS08/0X 0VAC, 50/60 Hz he 08/0 unit has fuse power protection. he fuse sizes for replacement are: 0V - 50V, SB, 5 ma, 5 x 0mm 0V - 50V,, 5 ma, 5 x 0mm perating Indicators When the unit is receiving valid code, the green CDE LED, on the rear panel, is illuminated. he LED stays lit for 5 seconds after code is removed. If this LED does not light, a problem in the unit or its interconnection may be indicated. Controlling Sensormatic Receiver Features he 08/0 supports the transmitted codes for all Sensormatic Speed Domes and Mini Domes. his includes full Pan, ilt and Lens control, 6 presets per receiver and special Console to Dome commands per Speed Dome. he special Console to Dome commands are: Reset Iris, Increase V-Phase Delay, Decrease V-Phase delay and Reset Dome. All pattern programming features of the Sensormatic domes are also provided. All functions are controlled via the AD keyboard, using the keys indicated in able 5, page 5. he commands shown are all applicable to Speed Domes. Several of the commands are applicable for Mini Dome functions. he 08/0 also supports alarm contacts. he American Dynamics Start Alarm and Stop Alarm commands are transmitted via the RS output port. he alarm contact number is the American Dynamics real camera address. When an alarm is received, an internal relay closes and the green alarm LED illuminates. he alarm reading is an asynchronous operation, working on a first-in first-out basis. he alarm contacts have one of two possible normal positions: open or closed. he 08/0 is initialized with a default setting of all switch contacts normally closed. If any dome is configured to a non-default setting, switch normally open, then refer to able 5 for the AD keyboard commands to set the appropriate switch state in the 08/0. Note that these commands must be used for each dome that is not set to normally closed, or was changed after the 08/0 was powered up. If an alarm input is activated, the green ALARM LED illuminates, and the alarm relay closes. he ALARM LED remains illuminated and the alarm relay remains closed for 0 seconds after the alarm input is removed.
