All our cylinders are formed from Duplex 2304 stainless steel, continuing our philosophy of only using the finest materials. We are so confident in our construction that we offer a 25 year guarantee* on the complete cyclone range. To keep a breast with developments the Joule Cyclone range has many key advantages. Butt Welding... All Cyclone cylinders are butt seam welded, this gives greater rigidity and removes the threat of crevice corrosion associated with some cylinders. Flexible Connections... Joule recognise that sometime the need for 1 hot & cold connections is required and our flexible approach to offer 1 connections with adaptable ¾ fitting is a key way forward for the installer Sensor Pockets... key to ensuring the cylinder works and performs to it optimal ability is the sensor pockets, these determine how the unit calls for heat from the external source. The Cyclone has 10mm solar sensor pockets ensuring the probes from the solar fit correctly and effectively, we have also ensured the aquastat pocket is produce to flair out holding the stat firmly in place. Coils... with the continued introduction of heat sources Joule has looked closely at the best possible option for coils within the Cyclone Range, we use both conventional rigid plain tube and CSST high efficiency coil to ensure all our units perform to the highest possible standards, this flexibility ensures Joule can produce any heat surface area required.

Here at Joule we use superior Duplex 2304, unlike some cylinder manufacturers who use inferior Duplex 2101. The properties of any stainless grade are defined not only by its alloy content but also by the way it is produced. Austentic stainless steel 316L is often used in water tanks. This grade offers limited strength properties, so needs to be thick enough to handle the internal pressure. Our Cylinders Our Duplex 2304 vented and un-vented Cyclone stainless cylinders offer optimised composition alloy elements that have created a stronger and corrosion resistant product that out performs not only other stainless steels but other solutions too. Cylinder Body & Ends Duplex 2304 stainless steel, domed ends are precision manufactured and Butt welded to the body, producing a strong and reliable vessel with out the risk of crevice corrosion. Outer Casing Sleek grey steel with laminated coated finish and corrosion resistant base. Wipe clean surface.

Calculating the volume needed can be achieved by adding together the individual volumes of each appliance that uses hot water and how frequently it is used. The energy source is the next variable to consider, as it will have a direct impact on the cylinder size.

Featuring a purpose designed solar coil, which allows maximum heat transfer of solar energy into the stored water, the cylinders are suitable for use with a wide range of solar systems now available and are an efficient and environmentally friendly way of providing domestic hot water. Cyclone solar cylinders also offer the benefit of mains pressure hot water powerful showers and fast filling baths. stainless thermalstore cylinders As the world wakes up to the importance of renewable energy Thermalstore units are proving to be a valuable option for the storage solution to cost effective hot water. Traditionally Thermalstores were produced from copper but new advances has helped Joule produce both copper and stainless steel options. The main purpose of a Thermalstore is to draw in heat from various sources to the store and heat the high efficiency DHW coil in the top of the unit, this then provides continuous hot water to demand. The main advantage of a Thermalstore is the unit only has to reheat the energy drawn and not the whole cylinder every time a draw off is made. The Joule stainless steel Thermalstore is a leader and innovation in its field; produced from Duplex 2304 stainless steel it has high durability and advanced properties. The high specification DHW coil is positioned within the unit to maximise the benefits from the external energy supplied. The solar Thermalstore units are designed to be fitted with solar panels and a boiler but also have the option to take heat sources such as wood burners, back boilers and heat pumps. The solar coil is positioned at the super cooled lowest part of the Thermalstore to ensure maximum solar benefit. copper thermalstore Joule copper Thermalstore units are designed for optimal efficiency and have the ability to perform with a wide variety of heatsource options. The heat retention of copper is second to none and is the ideal material to produce a hot water store. The flexibility of Joule s bespoke production enables the ability to manufacture the ideal unit for any option or location. At Joule we have the belief that the customer requirements are paramount and our experts work to ensure all options and solutions are available for the ever more demanding requirements of today s society. We have developed a vented Thermalstore that has the options for all of today s energy solutions from conventional boiler to renewable options such as solar and heat pumps. The Joule copper Thermalstore has a high technology DHW coil which supplies hot water via a mixing valve at high pressure direct from the mains water supply. The added benefits of a Thermalstore is the ease of installation with requirement to mains water directly and overflow (via a header tank) this enables the Thermalstore to be located anywhere within the dwelling. The units are produced in L, 250L and 300L capacities and supplied complete with a blend valve assembly (blend valve, 1lt expansion vessel) which will cover the demand of the domestic situation. As a store of hot water the main purpose is to hold heat and energy within the unit, Joule supply 50-60mm spray foam insulation on their Thermalstore (above part L requirements) to ensure optimum performance. How does a thermal store work? Thermal Store cylinders work in the opposite way to a conventional system. The storage cylinder that contains the Primary water is fed by the Feed & Expansion tank and heated by a boiler, immersion heaters or alternative heat source to a maintained 760C. Mains pressure cold water passes through a specially designed Heat Exchanger coil, which draws its heat from the thermal store. This water passes through a thermostatic mixing valve where it is blended to the required temperature of 510c and supplied the hot outlets throughout the property. The key to using a Thermalstore effectively is to maintain the store temperature at a constant 760c by means of the chosen heat source; this will ensure that instant hot water at mains pressure is available whenever required. copper solar vented cylinders Joule also produces conventional copper cylinders to the needs and specification of its customers. As advances has moved the hot water storage towards stainless steel units providing greater pressure there is still a market and requirement for copper cylinders. Copper is still the best natural material for heat transfer and copper has proved successful in vented applications for many years. Joule produce twin and triple coil copper cylinders in various sizes and grades of copper ensuring every requirement is catered for. The units are manufactured in either twin or triple coil applications and designed to work with a variety of heating options. The top coils are designed to transfer heat from a central heating boiler or solid fuel stove into the solar cylinder and the bottom coil is the solar transfer coil. The solar coil is manufactured in high efficiency finned coil to offer a large surface area to the solar gain. The units are fitted with 22mm compression fitting for easy of installation and 50mm foam insualtion. The cylinders are available in three three different grades of copper from 1, 2 and 3 with grade 3 being the standard. Grades 1 and 2 produced from thicker gauge copper for greater working head applications.
