EDW503 Option LED Programme LEDs Function LED Rinse Aid Salt Main switch Option push button ( Half load or Delay start ) Programme selection (sequential) 7
Inputs Programme selector Pressure switch NTC Door switch Reeds for salt and rinse aid Float switch in bottom tray, in series with inlet valve (all DGN models, ZM only with safety hose ) no tachymetric generator 8
Loads Heating controlled by relay on PCB Circulation pump controlled by triac: No pulse wash (in absence of tachymetric generator) On models featuring the half-load option, uncontrolledly reduced pump speed is used during dynamic fill when this option is selected Small loads controlled by ACS (AC switches): Inlet valve Detergent and rinse aid dispenser Drain pump Regeneration valve Drying fan possible, but not specified for any model yet 9

Cycle Start EDW500: Rotate programme selector into desired position Press START/RESET push button once EDW503 : Repeatedly press programme selection push button until LED of the desired programme is lit (Sequence begins with the last programme used) Cycle starts approx. 3 sec after closing the door 11
RESET after Cycle Start EDW500: Press the START/RESET push button again EDW503 : Press programme selection push button for approx. 3 sec, until reset is confirmed by LEDs Both: automatic reset if door is opened during drying phase (but only after the regeneration phase has ended) for more than 30 sec 12
Function LED on EDW503 LED flashing (0.5 sec on, 2 sec OFF) when appliance is switched on with the main switch LED keeps flashing during programme selection LED off after cycle start LED on after cycle end 13
Installation Mode EDW500 Before switching on the appliance, press the START/RESET push button, and keep pressed... 14
Installation Mode EDW500 Rotate programme selector to position 1 clockwise Keep the START/RESET push button pressed until LEDs Power on and Start/Reset start flashing LED END will start flashing too, the number of flashes indicating the regeneration level setting 15
Installation Mode EDW500 Water Hardness Setting While in installation mode, the water hardness setting will be increased by 1 each time the START/RESET push button is pressed (after reaching 10, the count will start at 1 again) The last setting will be stored in memory 16
Installation Mode EDW500 Water Hardness Levels Setting mmol/l Water Hardness Range French deg. German deg. Setting indicated by - LED "END" (EDW500) - Function LED (EDW503) Regeneration after* a total water load of approximately: 10L 9.0 12.5 90 125 TH 51 70 dh 10 flashes -- ** 9L 7.6 8.9 76 89 TH 43 50 dh 9 flashes 10 l 8L 6.5 7.5 65 75 TH 37 42 dh 8 flashes 15 l 7L 5.1 6.4 51 64 TH 29 36 dh 7 flashes 20 l 6L 4.0 5.0 40 50 TH 23 28 dh 6 flashes 35 l 5L 3.3 3.9 33 39 TH 19 22 dh 5 flashes 55 l 4L 2.6 3.2 26 32 TH 15 18 dh 4 flashes 70 l 3L 1.9 2.5 19 25 TH 11 14 dh 3 flashes 95 l 2L 0.7 1.8 7 18 TH 4 10 dh 2 flashes 130 l 1L below 0.7 below 7 TH below 4 dh 1 flashes 430 l * regeneration is done in the drying phase of the cycle during which this total load was reached ** regeneration is done twice in a cycle: in the first rinse and in the drying phase 17
Installation Mode EDW500 Water Hardness Levels In addition to the electronic setting of the water hardness level, it is important to set also the by-pass lever on the water tank: for water hardness levels 1 to 6: setting 0 for DGN, 1 for ZM (factory default) for water hardness levels 7 to 10: setting 1 for DGN, 2 for ZM 18
Installation Mode EDW500 Rinse Aid Deactivation After entering the installation mode, rotate programme selector to position 2 clockwise Setting is indicated by LED END flashes once - rinse aid dosage active (default) no flash - rinse aid dosage and LED deactivated Change setting by pressing START/RESET 19
Installation Mode EDW500 Rinse Aid Deactivation On some models, rinse aid deactivation will not be possible (always refer to user manual) On those models, the water hardness setting will also be shown in position 2 (and 3, 4, 5) 20
Exit Installation Mode To exit installation mode, switch off the appliance If not ended manually, the installation mode will end automatically 60 sec after the last user interface activation in either case, last settings will be stored 21
