Specimen Blooms General Information 1. RULES: The Local and State Rules apply to this department, available at sdfair.com/entry. No entry will be accepted should the exhibitor describe conditions under which he/she will exhibit. The 22nd DAA (San Diego County Fair) will not be responsible for loss or damage of any kind. 2. PROCESSING FEES: $85 for all shows or $10/show 4. ENTRY LIMIT: Two different entries per class, but only one per variety. Additional entries will be disqualified. An entry may not be entered in more than one class. It is necessary to register for the number of shows you wish to enter. For any species, you may enter any or all shows, but you need not specify which shows, leaving you flexibility to bring your blooms at their peak. Complete instructions will be provided with entry tags. Exhibitors are required to fill out show number and class number for each entry on the entry tags. 5. ENTRY TAGS: Exhibitors are required to fill out show number and class number for each entry plus provide name of bloom on the entry tag. For example: Celosia argentea, Zinnia elegans, etc. Entry tags will be mailed or picked up at the Flower Show Office after close of registration. 6. DELIVERY: Entries should be brought to the Flower Show Building (Mattress Firm O Brien Hall), tagged with entry tags provided, and left in place ready for judging by 7:30am (but not before 2:00am) on the FIRST DAY of each Show. Clean up between 7:15am and 7:30am. No moving of vases after 7:30am. Flower show staff happily accepts any unused flowers. 7. MATERIALS: No flowers used once in competition may be used again. Vases for specimen blooms are provided. The use of artificial flowers or foliage is prohibited. Specimens may not be purchased. 8. JUDGING: Exhibitors will not be permitted in or around show area during judging. Failure to comply will be cause for disqualification. Judging is at 7:45am, the first day of each show. 9. RIBBONS: Ribbons are available after the close of the Fair. Exhibitors wanting ribbons must notify the Flower Show Office as soon as possible, no later than June 22. 10. AWARDS: 1 st - $6 2 nd - $5 3 rd - $4 4 th - $2 SWEEPSTAKES TROPHY: The exhibitor winning the most premiums by specimen. 2 nd & 3 rd Place: Rosette. BEST OF THE DAY CERTIFICATE: The exhibitor most often chosen for Best of the Day by specimen.
