FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Samuel & Sons Presents, Meteorite: A Collection of Visionary Tiebacks SEPTEMBER 2015 (NEW YORK, NY) This fall, Samuel & Sons introduces Meteorite, an atelier collection of visionary tiebacks. This refined line was the artistic collaboration of the Samuel & Sons Design Studio and a consortium of distinctive resources. Mesmerized by meteors, our studio set out to explore unique materials reminiscent of otherworldly radiance, explains Michael Cohen, President of Samuel & Sons. Those with reflective surfaces, such as metals and multi faceted crystals, created splendid tassel tieback molds while orbiting discs and festoons of feathers replicated the trajectory of shooting stars. Surfaces and materials reflect light differently and these variations yield a dynamic visual experience. Light bounces off the facets of the Aero Tassel Tieback s fine cut crystal molds, creating a radiant aura while at the same time illuminating the lustrous yarns in the tieback sleek skirt. This luminance in contrast with the occasional matte surface accentuates each tiebacks dimensionality. This is also true of the Celestial Feather Holdback which features an embrace of 360 degrees of feathers. The Ellipse Tassel Tieback (pictured on the cover) consists of five concentric, black acrylic discs divided by lustrous silver yarn covered orbs. A sleek skirt extends from the bottom disc, making this 13.5 tassel a true statement piece. Celestial Feather Holdback composed of goose feathers in an array of neutral shades, this beautiful holdback is natural in form and sculptural in its dimensionality. Brushed silver endcaps and waxed cotton cord loops transform this organic holdback into a sleek, contemporary piece. Solaris Tassel Tieback dramatic in scale and linear form, Solaris is a sophisticated matte metallic tassel tieback with an etched metal sleeve accent. The tassel construction is such that it s adjustable on its double cord loops, enabling more versatility in application. This 17 tassel is striking in scale, glimmers like the stars in the night sky, modern in its hues, and features a linear, minimalistic approach to sophistication. Abrielle Tassel Tieback is the most predominant characteristic of these tiebacks is the cube knot mold in which individually braided cords are macraméd together. This complex mold is balanced by the tieback s straight skirt from which the inherent beauty of the fibers exude. The tieback's embrace cords are accented by more traditional knots and cord wrappings, elevating this organic design to a new level of sophistication. The Meteorite collection for Samuel & Sons is available in the New York flagship showroom, the Chicago showroom in the famous Merchandise Mart, London s esteemed Design Center Chelsea Harbour, and most recently in Los Angeles, in a brand new 2000 square foot showroom, at the Pacific Design Center.
