FLEXIBLE, INTEGRATED SOLUTIONS
DELIVERING INDUSTRY EXPERTISE Price TWA was formed in 2008 from the merger of two leading heating and ventilation suppliers in the UK, Price Technical Ltd (Formed in 1997 to supply high quality ventilation and heating systems) and TWA Panels UK Ltd (formed in 2003 to supply radiant heating panels). Together we now offer one of the widest ranges of heating and ventilation solutions in the UK. We are recognised in the industry not only for excellent design and manufacture of heating and ventilation systems but also for maintaining strong relationships with both specifiers and contractors. This combined with our strong manufacturing background has set us among the very best of the UK s heating and ventilation solutions providers. OUR EXPERIENCE We have grown and adapted as the construction industry has, offering modern solutions to modern issues. We understand that every project has individual needs and always offer flexible informed solutions to meet the needs of every project. Years of experience and industry expertise will provide you with a solution that s cost effective, efficient and suited to your building s individual design and function. We operate from our base in Bristol where we manufacture and distribute our range of products. We also have a dedicated team of sales engineers and representatives throughout the UK and Ireland offering exceptional customer service. Within this brochure we detail and compare each of our linear radiant panel products, if you need alternative heating solutions please refer to our Product Solutions brochure. OUR RADIANT PANEL SYSTEMS RADIANT PANEL HEAT EXCHANGE ILLUSTRATION RADIANT FIELD ZONE FOIL INSULATION (FIXES ONTO CROSSBRACE) HEIGHT ALUMINIUM CROSSBRACE WIDTH LTHW FLOW INTERLOCKING PLANKS LTHW RETURN CONTINUOUS RUN OF COPPER PIPEWORK EXTRUDED ALUMINIUM PLANKS 600 mm PANEL LENGTH UP TO *4200 MM * WHERE ACCESS TO ROOM ALLOWS Our radiant panels provide an efficient method of heating, which provides comfort to a room similar to the way the sun heats the earth. The panel operates using a water-based heat exchange as hot water is channelled through continuous copper pipework coils along aluminium planks. Seated into a tube saddle the pipework is held in direct thermal contact with the planks. A non-hardening heat paste between copper and aluminium, as well as the face profile, ensures even heat distribution overall thermal efficiency emitting a radiant field. PROVEN TECHNOLOGY When heated the extruded aluminium planks provide exceptionally high heat transfer and emit a field of electromagnetic radiation. This transfers heat to solid objects seen by the panel that are at a lower temperature than the panel itself. The objects then re-radiate heat to give a general warming effect. Whereas traditional convection heating is designed to heat air in a space. Warm air rises and needs to be circulated to heat the space. THE BENEFITS OF USING RADIANT PANELS Our radiant panels are: Draught-free and silent Low maintenance & clean Easy to install Flexible and modular A proven technology Simple and modern OUR LINEAR PANELS CAN BE WALL OR CEILING MOUNTED RADIANT PANEL PLACEMENT Ceiling mounting avoids direct contact with occupants, so can operate at higher temperatures than low level applications, where direct contact could cause problems, such as healthcare and education projects. OUR L24 & L26 RADIANT PANELS CAN BE USED FOR EITHER COOLING OR HEATING 4 www.pricetwa.co.uk (+44) 1934 835900 RADIANT PANELS
THE MODERN HEATING SOLUTION Radiant panels create a thermally stable environment applicable in a wide variety of building environments. Ideal for new builds and refurbishments, but most notably well suited for hospitals, schools, sports halls, offices and laboratories as they can be placed away from human contact and covered with an anti-bacterial coating. Our panels allow control of the mean radiant temperature and air temperature of an indoor area without the need for air circulation. This technology offers an integrated and modern heating solution, more effective and practical than traditional convection heating. CASE STUDY KEYNSHAM CIVIC CENTRE A number of outdated 1960s buildings were demolished and re-built to provide the Council with high quality offices. They required a cost effective heating and cooling solution that would integrate into the new building. CHALLENGES Bespoke requirements Noise reduction coefficient Hung from cross bracing Radiant sails lengths Working closely with the project team we implemented chilled, perforated and acoustic lined panels providing the required attenuation and absorption levels. This solution was integrated into the building with free hanging and T-Bar panels painted to match ceiling strips. Keynsham Civic Centre is one of the lowest energy consuming public buildings in the UK and is almost carbon neutral. CASE STUDY BRUNEL BUILDING SOUTHMEAD HOSPITAL The Brunel building accompanies the main Southmead hospital, built at the cost of 430 million. It was designed to bring the departments and services under one roof. CHALLENGES 430 Million pound project 800 beds and 24 operating theatres Logistics of 81 crates Cost effective solution Paul Townsend flickr Southmead hospital had recognised that radiant panels provide the best heating solution and asked us to supply over 1,000 T-Bar panels throughout the entire building. We managed to provide a cost effective solution by reducing panel lengths. The panels were fitted as part of the building creation and included deliveries over a period of 10 months. The new hospital has been built to be more sustainable, using far less power than the previous hospitals. (+44) 1934 835900 RADIANT PANELS www.pricetwa.co.uk 15
