INTRODUCTION about Byng Joinery Gary Byng and Sons Ltd, the owners of the Byng Joinery brand, started trading in the Midlands in 1999. We are a team of skilled joiners creating authentic bespoke joinery including traditionally made box sash windows, stormproof or flush profile windows and custom made staircases. We are happy to undertake projects of any size. Our traditional box sash window range comes with single, double or triple glazed units whilst maintaining a slim-line box. The windows are made from a choice of hard or soft wood and are completely finished to any R.A.L colour. We use the traditional method of weights and pulleys for our box sash windows and provide a 10 year warranty. Our range of casement windows can be produced with either inward or outward openings and a choice of either stormproof or flush casements, these also carry a warranty of 10 years. Another line that we produce is custom made staircases from either pine or oak. We manufacture high quality staircases designed to meet the exact requirements of your room, be it a tight space or the centre of a grand living room. Solid oak staircases are very popular at the moment because of the beauty of the timber and its durability. We can produce a variety of styles of staircases, including straight flights, kite winders, open treads and bullnose steps. We also design and manufactuer space saver staircases ideal for loft conversions, cellar and garage extensions. We offer flat pack kits for self-assembly or fully assembled staircases ready for installation. Every staircase is made to measure to your requirements. WARRANTIES LIMITED WARRANTY Limited Warranty covering all aspects of the supplied goods. The company warrants the following:- TIMBER USED IN CONSTRUCTION Timber used in the construction of the product will be covered for 10 YEARS from the effective date. This includes the frame, opening casement wings, sills and glazing beads. Problem Timber becomes unfit for use Timber becomes rotten or infested Solution Product would be inspected and the best possible solution would be carried out this could consist of a repair to the product in position or a replacement of the product completely. Limitations The warranty would not cover the product if the following has occurred Poor or incorrect installation Extreme water damage situations including: Product contains evidence of flood damage or complete submersion Product contains evidence of fire damage Maintenance All timber products should be carefully maintained using the following methods: The product must be kept clean and free from lichen, grease and dust Use hot water only to clean windows regularly GLASS AND GLAZING Glass and glazing would be covered for 10 YEARS from the effective date. This would include all panes of glass fitted within the product supplied. Problem Glass becomes steamed up with condensation on the inside of the sealed units Solution Subject glass unit would be inspected and the glass unit would be replaced. Limitations The warranty would not cover the product if the following has occurred: Cracked or smashed glass units Scratched or damaged glass units Maintenance All glass products should be carefully maintained using the following methods: Cleaning the glass inside and out regularly HARDWARE AND FITTINGS The hardware would be covered for 10 YEARS this includes door and window locks, door and window handles, hinges and any other hardware supplied by the company. Problem Hardware becomes faulty and unusable And key operated locks become faulty and unusable Solution Subject hardware would be inspected and either repaired or replaced. Limitations The warranty would not cover the product if the following has occurred: Hardware has evidence of forced and abrupt misuse Hardware has been scratched Hardware has had additional paint, solution or chemical on top of the finished hardware product supplied by the company Maintenance All hardware products should be carefully maintained using the following methods: All hardware should be correctly used All hardware should be regularly greased and oiled. PAINT The paint would be covered for 10 YEARS this includes all products supplied by the company which have been spray top coated. Problem Paint becomes defected or flaky Solution The product would be inspected and would be rectified with the product in position all failed attempts to rectify may result in a complete replacement of the product.
