IEC-IAEA relationships in the domain of nuclear safety and I&C systems a successful collaboration the principles 1981 IEC/IAEA agreement to eliminate the overlap between the 2 organizations to cover the NPP I&C domain IAEA responsible for developing safety principles, IEC/SC45A implement them technically in detail in industrial standards IEC/SC45A standards use the IAEA safety glossary Coordination through the participation of IEC/SC45A to the IAEA NUSSC, to the IAEA TWG I&C and to different IAEA technical meetings ( i.e. May 2011 Cybersecurity TM) Invitation of the IAEA representatives to the IEC/SC45A annual meetings 5/10

Collaboration with CENELEC 2007, CLC/TC45AX mirroring IEC/SC45A was activated Mid 2010, IEC 60880 (Safety SW), IEC 60987 (HW) and IEC 62138 (Safety related SW) published as EN standards and implemented nationally in 31 European countries Mid 2011, IEC 61226 (Classification), IEC 60964 (MCR), IEC 60709 (Separation) and IEC 62340 (CCF) published as EN standards and implemented nationally in 31 European countries Mid 2012, IEC 60965 (SCP), IEC 60671 (Periodic testing) and IEC 61500 (Data communication) published as EN standards and implemented nationally in 31 European countries Mid 2014, almost all the IEC/SC45A generic standards will be published as EN standards and implemented nationally in 31 European countries 2012, workshop to be organized with EC/JRC on declination of the WENRA SRL for the I&C 7/10
Collaboration with IEEE/NPEC 2002 and 2008, two high level agreements signed between the IEC and the IEEE 2009, technical collaboration started between IEC/SC45A and IEEE/NPEC Today, we are working together on 8 IEC/IEEE standards ( 5 on condition monitoring, 1 on computerized procedures, 1 on HF in NPP MCR, 1 on qualification) 2011, publication of 3 IEC/IEEE standards on condition monitoring expected, IEC/IEEE 62582 parts 1, 2 and 4 2012, Publication of 1 IEC/IEEE standard on computerized procedures expected, IEC/IEEE 62646 8/10
Collaboration with OECD/NEA MDEP (Multi Design Evaluation Project) gathers SA s undertaking the review of new reactor power plant designs to prepare technical common positions Invitation of IEC/SC45A to take part to the meetings of the MDEP/DICWG (Digital I&C Working Group) IEC/SC45A standards taken into account for the preparation of CPs IEC 60880, IEC 62138, IEC 61513, IEC 61226, IEC 62566. Today, the first CPs are published on the OECD website September 2011, conference to be held in Paris 9/10
