Today the association has over 1,000 global members. As the only association to champion the needs of authentic boutique and lifestyle properties around the world, BLLA was born to be the unifying voice of this distinctive sector of the hospitality industry. Our cutting-edge association is dedicated to bringing together a coalition of global boutique hospitality executives, leaders, inno vators, and industry trend-setters with the resources that make them authentically verified Boutique & Lifestyle properties and small brands as well as some of the world s finest vendors and manufacturers. An official membership grants access to global thought-leaders and the most prestigious events in the industry. Members gain access to marketing tools, white papers, resources and new boutique oriented educational programs for executives and employees through a new collaboration with UCLA Extension and other partner organizations. exceptional. In 2016, BLLA created an alliance with UCLA Extension to develop a platform that is designed to assist hotel owners and developers who are looking to turn an asset into an upscale or luxury boutique property or for those looking to convert a property from a brand to an independent property. The planned curriculum for the first education day, in conjunction with BLLA s Leadership Symposium, is based on research findings and linked to real life experiences in which knowledge and application are used. In the future, both an executive level program as well as programs for hotel staff in all departments, who need a more formalized education, are planned to be designed for those with demanding schedules and the anticipated goals will be to offer flexibility, a continuing boutique hospitality education platform and affordability. With this new educational program, BLLA is able to help educate the Boutique & Lifestyle world. Boutique & Lifestyle Awards The BLLA Awards honor outstanding Boutique & Lifestyle hotels through 5 award categories as well as those prominent leaders and pioneers in the Boutique & Lifestyle hospitality sector that have made extraordinary contributions to their properties or organizations. We celebrate the winners and finalists during the conference at the Gala Awards Dinner & Celebration. StayBoutique NEW! As the official association for this sector, we wanted to make it easier for consumers to find and book relevant hotels. At the same time, we want to provide our hotel members another avenue to attract incremental bookings directly by referring interested consumers to their booking page.
