Government of Newfoundland and Labrador Fire and Emergency Services Memo Date: February 19, 2018 To: Fire Department Members, Municipal Representatives, First Responders and Emergency Services Personnel From: Derek Simmons, Director of Fire Services/Fire Commissioner David McCormack, Director of Emergency Services Re: Fire and Emergency Services Training School Grand Falls-Windsor, May 26-June 1, 2018 Fire and Emergency Services (FES) is pleased to announce the dates and location for the 2018 Fire and Emergency Services Training School. FES Training School will be held in Grand Falls-Windsor from May 26-June 1, 2018. The training offered through the FES Training School will provide a wide range of courses, seminars and programs that should be of interest to fire, municipal/local service district representatives, police and other first responders. Participants may register for as many sessions as they wish for the 2018 FES Training School. Please complete the attached training application form for each course and a separate application form is required for certification testing. FES has established a minimum number of participants with a registration deadline of May 11, 2018. Except where identified, all courses will be held in Grand Falls- Windsor. Please go to the Grand Falls-Windsor Fire Hall or check the FES website at http://www.gov.nl.ca/fes/training/index.html on course locations. Please Note: To ensure quality program delivery, FES has established a maximum number of participants for each course. Applications will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. For a brief description of the seminars and programs, please see the attached or visit the FES website at http://www.gov.nl.ca/fes/training/fpcourses.html. There are no course registration fees to attend this training school. However, meals, travel, course manuals and accommodations are the responsibility of the candidate. Firefighters attending must bring Personal Protective Equipment (bunker gear) for themselves and a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus, where applicable, if they have a spare SCBA available.
