A. Setting up the Oracle MiniGAP Unit (OMG): 1. Open the OMG and install 4 AA batteries. Note: AA Lithium batteries recommended for use in colder climates and for longer battery life. All OMG units are shipped with Dipswitch #1 in the UP position. For Primary unit, dipswitch #1 remains in UP position. B. Setting up the Gate Control Unit (GCU) and activating it to the OMG: 1. Remove the outer cover of the GCU and install 4 AA batteries. Note: AA Lithium batteries recommended for use in colder climates and for longer battery life. 2. Press the LEARN button on the GCU until the LED lights up. Release the button. 3. Within 20 seconds, press and hold the LEARN button on the OMG (little black button inside the unit, at the top) until the unit beeps. 4. The OMG will beep and the GCU LED will flash 3 times slowly to indicate success. 1
C. Setting up an Oracle Portable Intercom (OPI) and activating it into the main network: 1. Remove the battery door on the back of the OPI unit and install 4 AA batteries. 2. Press the LEARN button on the OMG unit until the unit beeps. 3. Within 20 seconds, press and release the LEARN button on the OPI (little black button at the back of the unit 4. The Intercom will beep to indicate success. D. Setting up a Reporter Flush-Mount Intercom (RIFM) and activating it into the main network: 1. Place 4 C batteries into the back of the Flush-Mount unit. 2. Press the LEARN button on the OMG unit until the unit beeps 3. Within 20 seconds, press both buttons on the Flush-Mount until the unit beeps and the channel lights start flashing quickly, then release. 4. The Flush Mount will beep to indicate success. E. Setting up a Telephone Interface Unit (OTIU) and activating it into the main network: (Note: both step 1 & 2 must occur within 15 seconds of each other) 1. Using the phone that is connected OTIU, once you hear a dial tone press **07. You will hear a beep. 2. Hang up and the LEARN light will flash for up to 15 seconds. If it does not and you hear an error tone, clear the memory as noted below using the telephone directly connected to the OTIU. 3. Press and hold down the LEARN button on the OMG for 1 second (within 15 seconds) to put into LEARN mode. The OTIU will ring the telephone and Caller ID will display Unit Learned.! Clearing the Memory If you get an error tone at any time or need to re-teach a unit, you will need to clear the memory. 1. To clear the memory on the OMG, make sure dipswitch #1 is DOWN and hold down the LEARN button until you hear a low tone. 2. To clear the memory on the GCU, hold down the LEARN button until the LED gives 4 double blinks. 3. To clear the memory on the OPI, hold down the LEARN button until you hear a low tone. 4. To clear the memory on the Flush-Mount, hold down both buttons until you hear a low tone. 5. To clean the memory on the Telephone Interface Unit, use the telephone that is directly connected to the OTIU and press ##*8. A beep will indicate a cleared memory. Mounting Instructions F. Mounting the Oracle MiniGAP Unit (OMG): 1. To mount the MiniGAP with 4 screws, use the included mounting template as a guide for screw placement. Tighten the top 2 screws halfway. Place the back of the MiniGAP on the 2 top screws and tighten. Put the other 2 screws in the bottom and tighten. Note: Do not assemble the front of the unit until it has been fully activated. 2. To mount the MiniGAP on a metal, glass, or other smooth surface, use the double-sided, highstrength mounting tape included. For best results, clean both surfaces with the included alcohol wipe before applying.! Large metal surfaces could considerably shorten the range of the units. Best if mounted on a wood surface. If mounting on a large metal surface and long range is required, use a non-metallic spacer to move the unit away from the metal surface by as much as possible. 2
G.. Mounting the Gate Control Unit (GCU): 1. Mount the GCU with the label in the upright position, with the antenna pointing straight down. 2. Connect the Normally Open (N/O) connection of the GCU unit to the gate or door. A separate power supply is required to power the door strike if used. 3. If using with a Magnetic Lock, use the Normally Closed (N/C) connections of the GCU. Door Strike Normally Open (N/O) Connection Magnetic Lock Normally Closed (N/C) Connection Networks H. ADDING AN ADDITIONAL GATE SYSTEM TO THE NETWORK Two gate systems can be created with common Intercom(s), Portable or Flush Mount or both with unlimited unit expansion. Two systems can also be created with a common Telephone Interface Unit. The OMG (Gate & Door Intercom Unit) will send a beep to either the Intercoms or ring the Telephone Interface Unit inside and allow you to open that specific gate by pressing the Remote feature button on the Intercoms or pressing *9 on your telephone keypad. Activating the gate from the inside Intercoms without receiving a beep from the Gate Intercom will open Gate #1 only. Pressing *9 on your telephone without receiving a beep from the Gate Intercom will also open only Gate #1. The first Gate and Door Intercom will be referred to as Active and the 2 nd as Passive. Dipswitch Reference: All OMG (Gate & Door Intercom) Units ship with dipswitch#1 in the UP position (OFF). All other dipswitches are in the DOWN position (ON). All GCU s (Gate Controller Units) ship with dipswitches in the DOWN position (Off). I. TO ADD A SECOND GATE TO THE EXISTING SYSTEM with Intercoms and Telephone Interface Units. This system will send a message to the same Intercom(s) and Telephone Interface Unit referenced above. Required: (1) Programmed single Door/Gate Access System (OMG-P, OMG-F, OMG-T.) (1)Wireless OMG (Gate & Door Intercom) (to Add-On) (1)Wireless GCU (Gate Controller Unit) (to Add-On) 1. Remove one battery from the #1 Gate Controller Unit, the unit already taught. 2. Put the batteries in the 2 nd Gate Controller Unit. 3. Put dipswitch #1 in Gate Controller Unit #2 in the UP position (ON). 4. Press and release the LEARN button on Gate Controller Unit #2, a red LED lights up in response 5. Within 20 seconds press and hold the LEARN button on the inside of the unit #1 OMG (Gate & Door Intercom) Unit down for TEN seconds or until you hear the beep. The Gate and Door Intercom will beep in response as it activates. 6. Put OMG #2 (Gate & Door Intercom) in Passive Mode by switching dipswitch #1 on the inside of the unit DOWN (towards the circuit board). All dipswitches should now be down on the Gate and Door Intercom Unit #2. This puts the unit into Passive mode and will now act as an accessory to the Active (primary). 7. Press the button on the #1 OMG (or Primary Gate and Door Intercom) momentarily. The Gate and Door Intercoms will beep in response as all join the network. 8. Place the battery back into the #1 GCU (Gate controller Unit). 9. You now have 2 Gate systems calling into a common communication network. This applies to networks consisting of either (or both) intercoms or telephone interface unit. General Operation I: Using the MiniGAP 1. Put the two halves of the OMG body together and place the 2 black screws in the top and bottom holes on the front of the OMG and tighten. The OMG is ready to use. 2. When a visitor presses the CALL button, Intercom units will give an attention-getting beep and if unanswered, will continue to beep for 40 seconds. 3. During this time, Intercoms will ONLY connect to the MiniGAP. 4. Hold down the TALK button on an Intercom to speak to the visitor. Release the TALK button to hear the response. 5. This will be a secure conversation and other intercoms will no interfere. 6. To activate a GCU, press the REMOTE button while talking to a visitor. 7. To activate GCU #1 without a visitor pressing the CALL button, hold the Intercom s REMOTE button for 10 seconds (not available when multiple MiniGAP, GAP, Keypad units used). 4
