Latex paints (not accepted at Hazardous Waste Collections) can be dried and then disposed of in the trash. The lid should be removed and the can placed in a safe location for the contents to dry out. Once hardened, it can be placed in the trash. Oil based paints, stains, and paints containing lead are accepted at the annual Clean Sweep Hazardous Waste Collections.
