Munich is the capital of Bavaria and a must-see for everyone who wants to get to know the south of Germany. There is no better place to experience the typical Bavarian flair and the warm character of its inhabitants. We want to see both, the historic and the contemporary side of Munich. Furthermore, we will discover its regional culinary delights. 1 st Day: After the arrival of every participant at midday, we will start the day with a little introduction by our tour guide before we will continue with our sightseeing program. We will visit the old and new town hall, Stachus, Marienplatz, Odeplatz, the Frauenkirche and we will have a walk to the well-known Viktualienmarkt. Later on, we will do a trip to the famous Olympia Park, where a stadium and other sports facilities, which were built for the Olympic Games in 1972, can be gazed. At the end of the day, we will enjoy the amazing view from St. Peter. In the evening, we will have dinner at the Schnitzelwirt and eat the best Schnitzel in town. 2 nd Day: After breakfast, the participants will have the possibility to choose between two options: visit Dachau or the Allianz Arena. Dachau was the first continuously operated concentration camp in Germany for a period of 12 years where numerous victims of the German Nazi Regime were murdered. Now Dachau is a memorial site, to ensure that people will not forget about these crimes. The Allianz Arena is a huge soccer arena, where the best club in Germany, the FC Bayern München, plays its home matches. Afterward, we will do a typical German Spaziergang to the Karlsplatz, the Isator and the Hofgarten. Dresden, located in the East of Germany, is the capital of the federal state Sachsen. The City is also called "Florence at the Elbe" thanks to its idyllic location on the banks of the Elbe river, and its excellent examples of Baroque architecture. Dresden is a metropolis of art and culture, it has lots of world-class museums as well as wonderful palaces, parks and gardens. 3 rd Day: In the morning we will depart to the wonderful city Dresden. After the check-in and lunch we will make a tour through the city, visit the Frauenkirche, where we will enjoy one of the famous organ playings, the Brühlsche Terasse and the Zwinger Palace, the Semperoper and the Residenzschloss and the Gläserne Manufaktur of Volkswagen. Afterwards we will enjoy a lecture at the Goethe Institute of Dresden in order to learn more about the procedure and contents of this worldwide working cultural institute of Germany. In the evening, we will listen to a concert at the Elbufer and enjoy the overwhelming panorama of Dresden at night. 4 th Day: In the morning, we will visit the Elbsandsteingebirge, a low mountain range in Sachsen (Germany) and Nordböhmen (Czech Republic). It is around 700km² large and about 723 m above the sea level. It has an amazing landscape and is worth a visit. People from all over the world come here to experience the breath-taking view. It is a great opportunity to see the stunning landscape! Berlin is more than 775 years old and over the decades all generations have left their monuments and landmarks in the capital city. Berlin has a touching history, as it was divided into East and West during the Cold War. Many families were separated from each other. Today Berlin is a centre of culture, art, politics and science. Berlin s architecture, design and lifestyle are famous around the world. We are going to visit the most famous sights of Germany s capital city and experience more about the division in West and East Germany as well as the current political system. 5 th Day: Our first day in Berlin will be full of sightseeing. We will visit the Brandenburger Tor, the popular street Kurfürstendamm, the Potsdamer Platz and the Berliner Fernsehturm. We will continue our walk through Unter den Linden and visit the Regierungsviertel with the Reichstag. There, we will have the posibility to discuss the current political content with divergent parliamentary groups and learn how much political preferences can differ in Germany. In the evening, we will take a look insight the educational system of Germany at the Freie Universität Berlin, where we will not only make a tour through the Campus but also listen to lectures of the academic dean and the international office. 6 th Day: We will start our second day in Berlin with a morning coffee at one of the various small, inviting cafés of the Nicolaiviertel, one of the oldest and most beautiful districts of Berlin. After visiting the famous Gedächtniskirche, we will continue our trip to the Musuem Island of Berlin, where you can choose between numerous interesting museums. You can either visit the Pergamonmuseum which is famous for it s giant Greek gates the Bode Museum, the Alte Nationalgalerie or the Alte Museum. Afterward we will visit the DDR-Museum all togehter, where we will listen to a speech concerning the live and difficulties of living in the DDR. Later on, we will feel the spirit of the communistic state in a realistic furnished flat in the center of Berlin and get in touch with various memories by visiting the East Side Gallery, where painted parts of the Berlin wall can be gazed. 7 th Day: On our last day in Berlin we will make a trip to Potsdam, the capital city of the federal state Brandenburg. There, we will visit the well known castle Sanssouci, which belongs to the world heritage. We will enjoy a walk in its beautiful and extensive garden and see the most spectacular site of Potsam by boat during a river tour.
