DIRECTIONS FOR USE CROP PEST RATE CRITICAL COMMENTS per ha per 100m row or bed Sugarcane (plant cane only) Greyback (Dermolepida albohirtum) Childers (Antitrogus parvulus) Negatoria (Lepidiota negatoria) Southern one-year (Antitrogus consanguinies) Greyback (Dermolepida albohirtum) Childers (Antitrogus parvulus) 10kg or 15kg for up to 2 years 10kg or 15kg for 4 years 10kg for 3 years 150g or 225g for up to 2 years 150g or 225g for 4 years 150g for 3 years - 225g for up to 2 years 225g for up to 3 years CONVENTIONAL PLANTING IN SINGLE ROWS (Planters with planting boards that results in wide planting furrows in single rows.) suscon maxi should be applied directly to the soil through a precision granule applicator. Use the higher rate to maintain the yield potential of high yielding sugarcane crops when heavy greyback infestation is expected or where 4 year control of Childers is required. Apply granules in a band 15-20cm wide across the centre of the row by one of the methods listed below. Cover granules with at least 5cm of compacted soil or 10cm of loose soil at the time of application. DO NOT remove soil or disturb granules in subsequent cultivation. Bring in further covering soil as cane growth allows. Granules should be covered by 15-20cm of compacted soil once the row is finished and hilled up. This placement can be achieved by one of the application methods shown for Conventional Planting under GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS. CONVENTIONAL PLANTING IN DUAL ROWS (Cane planted in dual rows in beds up to 2.1m apart) Apply suscon maxi with a precision granule applicator, so that granules are placed in bands 15-20cm wide in each planting row. Similar amounts of product should be applied in each band (112.5g/100m row). Cover granules with at least 5cm of compacted soil or 10cm of loose soil at the time of application. DO NOT remove soil or disturb granules in subsequent cultivation. If row/bed completion requires, bring in further covering soil as cane growth allows. Granules should be covered by 15-20cm of compacted soil once the row is finished and hilled up. Apply suscon maxi with a precision granule applicator, so that granules are placed in even bands at least 7cm wide in each planting row. In the case of dual rows, similar amounts of product should be applied in each band (112.5g/100m row). Granules should be covered by 10-15cm of soil when planting is completed. DO NOT remove soil or disturb granules in subsequent cultivation. Refer to Double disc opener planters application recommendations under GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS for further detail. NOT TO BE USED FOR ANY PURPOSE, OR IN ANY MANNER, CONTRARY TO THIS LABEL UNLESS AUTHORISED UNDER APPROPRIATE LEGISLATION. WITHHOLDING PERIODS HARVEST: NOT REQUIRED WHEN USED AS DIRECTED. GRAZING: DO NOT GRAZE OR CUT FOR STOCK-FOOD FOR 27 WEEKS AFTER APPLICATION. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS Insecticide Resistance Warning GROUP 4A INSECTICIDE For insecticide resistance management suscon maxi Soil Insecticide is a Group 4A insecticide. Some naturally occurring insect biotypes resistant to suscon maxi and other Group 4A insecticides may exist through normal genetic variability in any insect population. The resistant individuals can eventually dominate the insect population if suscon maxi or other Group 4A insecticides are used repeatedly. The effectiveness of suscon maxi on resistant individuals could be significantly reduced. Since occurrence of resistant individuals is difficult to detect prior to use, Crop Care Australasia Pty Ltd accepts no liability for any losses that may result from the failure of suscon maxi to control resistant insects. The user should seek advice and monitor performance and if the results are not in accordance with expectations, contact the manufacturer immediately. Apparent resistance however, should not be confused with poor application, coverage or timing techniques. suscon maxi may be subject to specific resistance management strategies. For further information contact your local supplier, Crop Care Australasia Pty Ltd representative or local agricultural department agronomist. Export of Treated Produce Growers should note that suitable MRLs or import tolerances may not be established in all markets for produce treated with suscon maxi. If you are growing produce for export, please check with Crop Care Australasia Pty Ltd for the latest information on MRLs and import tolerances BEFORE using suscon maxi. suscon maxi Approved: 13 September 2012 Page 7 of 10

1. APPLICATION RECOMMENDATIONS FOR CONVENTIONAL PLANTING suscon Maxi should be applied directly to the soil through a precision granule applicator. Apply granules in a band 15-20cm wide across the centre of the row by one of the methods listed below. Cover granules with at least 5cm of compacted soil or 10cm of loose soil, at the time of application. DO NOT remove soil or disturb granules in subsequent cultivation. Bring in further covering soil as cane growth allows. Granules should be covered by 15-20cm of compacted soil once the row is finished and hilled up. This placement can be achieved by the following application methods: (i) Apply at Planting Mix granules with incoming soil behind the planter boards to form a layer 2-3cm deep and 15-20cm wide across the row. Granules may safely touch the sett. This method is most suitable where there is 20cm or less soil above the sett in the finished hilled row, and especially where Negatoria or Childers grub are a major local pest. (ii) Apply into the Furrow a) At first working Apply granules in a band 15-20cm wide across the centre of the furrow and 2-5cm above the sett, depending on planting depth. This method is most suitable where there will be 17-20cm of soil above the sett in the finished hilled row, especially where greyback and other grubs occur together. suscon maxi Approved: 13 September 2012 Page 8 of 10

b) At cutaway or drill fill-in Apply granules in a band 15-20cm wide across the centre of the furrow and between 5-15cm above the sett depending on row depth. This method is recommended where there will be more than 20cm of soil above the sett in the finished hilled row, especially where greyback grub is the major pest. 2. APPLICATION RECOMMENDATIONS FOR DOUBLE DISC OPENER PLANTERS suscon Maxi should be applied directly to the soil through a precision granule applicator. Apply granules in bands at least 7cm wide and 2-3cm thick in each planting row. Granules should be covered by 10-15cm of soil when planting is completed. DO NOT remove soil or disturb granules in subsequent cultivation. Example of dual row application below. PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FISH, CRUSTACEANS AND ENVIRONMENT DO NOT contaminate streams, rivers or waterways with this product or used container. Irrigation run-off from treated areas should be prevented from entering drains and waterways. DO NOT leave granules above ground as they are dangerous to wildlife, particularly birds. STORAGE AND DISPOSAL Keep out of reach of children. Store in the closed, original container in a dry, cool, well-ventilated area out of direct sunlight. Shake bag/box contents into the applicator until empty. Do not dispose of product on site. Puncture or shred and bury empty containers in a local authority landfill. If no landfill is available, bury the containers below 500 mm in a disposal pit specifically marked and set suscon maxi Approved: 13 September 2012 Page 9 of 10

up for this purpose clear of waterways, desirable vegetation and tree roots. Empty containers and product should not be burnt. SAFETY DIRECTIONS Will irritate the eyes, nose, throat and skin. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not inhale dust. When opening the container and loading, wear cotton overalls buttoned to the neck and wrist (or equivalent clothing), elbow-length PVC gloves, goggles and disposable dust face mask covering mouth and nose. If product in eyes, wash it out immediately with water. Wash hands after use. After each day s use, wash gloves, goggles and contaminated clothing.
