HIGH FLOWRATE ATMOSPHERIC DRYER Dyeing machines

pag. 1 / 6 HIGH FLOWRATE ATMOSPHERIC DRYER Arao and Arav are fully automatic yarn package high flowrate dryers at atmospheric pressure conceived to load directly the dyeing carriers coming from dyeing machines, after hydroestraction. The dryer performs the final drying of yarn packages after a preliminary centrifugal hydroextraction performed by the Hydrocolumn system. They are normally used to dry several types of yarns without practical limitations in: Fibre composition Yarn package type and size. Yarns can be of cotton, acrylic, wool, polyester, rayon and blends in form of cylindrical, conical, biconical, compressible packages. ARAO 1400/3000 high flowrate atmospheric dryer in operation in a fully robotized yarn package dyeing plant. Carrier unmanned loading/unloading by shuttle. HIGH DRYING PERFORMANCE Arao and Arav dryers are rated to operate at atmospheric pressure with a high Dp and flowrate in order to reduce the drying time and to obtain the best quality in the subsequent yarn working processes. ALL OPERATIONS ARE PERFORMED IN A OPEN AIR CIRCUIT consisting of: 1.Autoclave designed to receive the modular yarn package carrier (s). 2.Inlet air filter to avoid external air pollution (available "absolute filter" in option) 3.High-efficency centrifugal blower 4.Indirect air heating battery 5.Weighing system (available as option) Electric control panel with PC for fully automatic operation DRYING During the yarn drying phase temperatures are pre-set in control panel at the beginning of the cycle and automatically controlled during process through specific probes piloting the steam on-off valve by a continuos modulating PC system. The air is blown by the blower through heating battery, heated at preset temperature according to yarn type and colour shade, flows at high speed through the yarn in inside to-outside direction, thereby transferring heat to the yarn and becoming saturate with evaporated water. The saturated air is evacuated through a canopy. The complete drying operation is developed in two sequences, after hydroextraction by centrifuge, which are performed automatically:

pag. 2 / 6 YARN CONDITIONING After drying phase air heating battery is excluded and air it is circulated in inside-to outside direction in order to equalize residual humidity in yarn packages and reduce the final temperature of the material. The drying process duration is controlled automatically by means of: Time Automatic weighing and moisture rate pre-setting system DRYING CYLES Centrifuged cotton yarn: 210 min at 110 degrees. Centrifuged acrylic wool yarn: 150 min at 100 degrees. Centrifuged acrylic 100% open end yarn: 120 min at 100 degrees. Centrifuged wool 100% yarn: 180 min at 100 degrees. Centrifuged acrylic 100% HB yarn: 90 min at 100 degrees. TOP-QUALITY DRYING. ARAO and ARAV atmospheric dryers operate efficiently processing drying at low temperatures of : Delicate yarns as wool, silk, pre -bulked HB acrylics. White yarns and yarns dyed in pale or brilliant colour shades. Yarns dyed with dyestuffs classes subject to migration at high temperature. Delicate yarns and heat-sensitive yarns can be dried at low temperatures in the range from 80 to 105 C with optimum quality, without yellowing effects and with perfect conservation of physical properties of handle and bulkness. Construction in AISI 316 stainless steel allows the use of acid solutions in final stage after dyeing without problems of chemical corrosion. The dryer consists of: Inlet air filter to avoid yarn pollution due to external air Stainless steel casing with heating battery in aluminium/copper for indirect air heating Single-stage centrifugal blower of high-efficiency type, driven by electric motor with external ventilation system. Pneumatic cut-off valve on the main air circuit which allows blower operation with minimum loading capacity of the machine Stainless steel piping connections for rapid and homogeneous diffusion of heating air flow Parallelepiped-shaped, stainless steel autoclave, complete with roller bearings for easy sliding and positioning of carrier; Automated door opening/closing system through pneumatic cylinders with mechanic safety device and with pneumatic device for yarn carrier locking system Connection mouthpiece to air circuit.

pag. 3 / 6 AUTOMATIC CONTROL OF RESIDUAL MOISTURE The device is conceived to operate as below: During drying operation, through a specific hardware system, the carriers loaded with yarn packages are weighed directly in the autoclave. A separate software system allows to equalise the residual humidity in yarn packages with pre set moisture rate. This system avoids any risks of over or poor drying, typically linked to traditional drying systems such as those of pre set end of cycle, or control of final temperature rate when air is eliminated through exhaust air circuit. The device consists of: Stainless steel roller bearing for easy sliding and positioning of carrier Uplifting device of roller bearing by means of 4 pneumatic cylinders external to autoclave Weighing system by 4 electronic weight measuring cells Electro-pneumatic hardware control system positioned inside the control panel Software system to allow weighing of yarn carrier and subsequent selfregulation according to the value detected and pre set value to be attained. OPEN LOOP AIR CIRCULATION SYSTEM The using of the open loop circulation system consists of the following items in sequence: FILTER : the pollution of the filter is continuosly monitorized by a differential pressure manometer that shows when to chance the filter itself. BLOWER: hi Dp and flowrate blower, optionally controlled by inverter in order to maximize the Dp and the flowrate as needed, in order to reduce the drying time. HEAT EXCHANGER: the air flow passes through the battery only once in order to avoid the polluting effect of air recycling. The blower is not stopped during carrier unloading, loading and weighing phase, in order to avoid heavy power consumption, peaks of absorbed power and rapid motor wear connected to intermittent delta-star restarting.

pag. 4 / 6 LOCKING SYSTEM OF PACKAGE COLUMNS The device has been conceived to fit to the top of yarn package columns in order to lock them. This system avoids air blow-out by closing and locking automatically once the carrier has been loaded and before the drying cycle starts. This is done without any operators or machines intervention to position back the locking system on packages after centrifugal process. The device is suitable for yarn carriers of same type, i.e., for carriers having the same disposition at the basis of columns. Spindle locking device with uplifting and lowering system by means of 4 pneumatic cylinders positioned external to autoclave Electro-pneumatic hardware control system positioned inside the control panel Software control system. The device consists of: Stainless steel spindle locking device complete with caps to be fitted on to the top of columns. AUTOMATIC OPERATION The complete drying process is fully automatic. Drying and conditioning phases are all executed without any operator's interventions. Control of operating conditions and times is performed by timers and electro-pneumatic logic under guidance by PC (Personal Computer). This presetting consists of electropneumatic devices for unmanned operation of: Checking preconditions for lid opening Dry yarn carrier unlocking (so as to be removed by automated crane or shuttle) Lid unlocking and lifting and, after wet yarn carrier automated loading, Lid lowering and safety locking Carrier locking to air circulation circuit

pag. 6 / 6 HOST COMPUTER REMOTE CONTROL In order to preset optimum drying conditions for a wide range of yarn packages, fiber types and colour shades, many drying cycles can be performed by a one-touch digiting of program number on the PC of the dryer. The microprocessor it is designed for direct interfacing with central computer for centralized dyehouse management. STANDARD FEATURES.
