Although bamboo or hardwood timber floors are generally considered easy to maintain, using the wrong products and techniques put the finish and longevity of your floors at risk. It s not too much to expect that our living and working environments are kept free from chemicals that could cause long term damage. As we look for reliable alternatives one thing is certain, and that is, that it s up to us to make the right choices. Along with the FLOOR n ALL - Floor & All Purpose Cleaner, the FLOOR n ALL - Swivel Head Extension Mop with microfibre pads, is the complete hard floor cleaning system. The FLOOR n ALL - Swivel Head Extension Mop is great for cleaning, especially as a daily mop. It is easy to use and requires little effort to set up and use. Your microfibre mop applicator comes with a telescopic handle so you can customise the size for your personal use. It has a multi-directional swivel mop head to easily reach into tight spots. The microfibre wet and dry pads attach to your applicator head with a simple Velcro connect system. Cleaning your floors has never been easier. Use it wet or dry, on all hard floors including bamboo floors, hardwood timber floors, polished timber, tiles, and vinyl. When dry, the blue general purpose pad cleans with the positive charge of the microscopic wedge shaped woven fibres. When the green heavy duty pad is wet, it uses capillary action to suck up the dirt and water, deep into the mop pad. These microfibre wet and dry pads are machine washable in hot water - do not use fabric conditioner. FLOOR n ALL - Scratch Cover, is specially formulated to cover scratches and nicks and is ideal for colouring over minor surface scratches on your bamboo or hardwood timber floor. It is available in two colours to seamlessly match the colour of your floor or furniture piece. FLOOR n ALL - Scratch Cover for Dark Timber FLOOR n ALL - Scratch Cover for Light Timber For darker colour bamboo floors e.g. Style Plantation s STYLEBOARD Coffee, Latte or Cocoa Blend flooring, use FLOOR n ALL Scratch Cover for Dark Timber. FLOOR n ALL - Scratch Cover for Dark Timber is also suitable for darker timbers like the Style Plantation WOODLAND Eucalypt Ebony range, jarrah, mahogany and cherry. For lighter colour bamboo floors e.g. Style Plantation s STYLEBOARD Savannah or Honey Blend or the WOODLAND Eucalypt Ivory range, use FLOOR n ALL - Scratch Cover for Light Timber. Instructions for use on minor surface scratches on your bamboo or hardwood timber floor: Shake the bottle vigorously before use Use a cotton tip to apply the stain over the scratch Wipe the area with a paper towel or soft cotton cloth Reapply if required. FLOOR n ALL General Purpose and Anti-bacterial Microfibre Cloths Microfibre is a very fine synthetic, man-made textile fibre. By comparison, a microfibre thread can be more than twice as fine as a silk thread and more than 100 times finer than a human hair! To make microfibre suitable for use in cleaning products, the fibre is subjected to a splitting process. A unique blend of polyester (for absorbency) and polyamide (for strength) is split and separated into multiple, wedge shaped strands which are then woven into cloth which features amazing softness, absorbency, and incredible cleaning power. When used dry, these cloths can clean much more efficiently than traditional cloths because of the static charge of the shaped woven fibres. When the cloth is damp, it uses capillary force to draw the dirt and moisture deep into the cloth.
FLOOR n ALL - Green Antibacterial Microfibre Cloth This revolutionary new dual sided premium microfibre green cloth is just the thing for busy kitchens, food preparation, and eating areas. On one side is a coarse, long pile weave for removing stubborn grime and food leftovers on plates, glassware and cooking utensils, and on the other side is a soft, plush, absorbent cloth featuring a Silver film yarn. As we know, colloidal silver is capable of both inhibiting and killing typical common bacteria found in kitchen/food processing areas. FLOOR n ALL - Yellow General Purpose Microfibre Cloth The yellow 40cm X 40cm general purpose yellow cloth, is perfect for cleaning, polishing & buffing. Tricot style weave ensures strength and durability. Will not scratch and can be washed up to 300 times. HOW DO I USE MICROFIBRE PRODUCTS? GENERAL CLEANING: For general cleaning, lightly spray the surface with the ready to use FLOOR n ALL - Floor & All Purpose Cleaner and then wipe the surface clean with FLOOR n ALL - Yellow General Purpose Microfibre Cloth. POLISHING: Microfibre is a great product for polishing. Just use dry to remove polish and wax preparations from furniture and motor vehicles. The brilliant shine will amaze you. FLOORS: Use the dry General Purpose Microfibre Pad (blue) attached to the FLOOR n ALL - Swivel Head Extension Mop to sweep up dust and grit before cleaning the floor with FLOOR n ALL - Floor & All Purpose Cleaner solution. Lightly mist the FLOOR n ALL - Floor & All Purpose Cleaner solution on to the floor, over a section at a time, and wipe over with the damp (green) heavy duty microfibre mop pad, attached to the FLOOR n ALL Swivel Head Extension Mop. HOW DO I CARE FOR MY MICROFIBRE CLEANING PRODUCTS? To get the best performance from your microfibre cleaning products, they should be washed regularly to release the dirt and contaminants trapped in the fibres. They can be hand washed or machine washed in warm to hot water (60-90 C). Use a regular liquid or powder laundry detergent. Avoid washing microfibre with other fabrics (many fabrics leave a lint residue which will be attracted to the microfibre). WARNING - Do NOT use Fabric Softeners or Bleach when washing microfibre. Microfibre should be air dried.
CLEANING YOUR FLOOR A Bamboo or Timber floor will look better for longer if it is kept as clean as possible. To remove surface dirt and grit, regularly vacuum, with a soft bristle head or sweep with the dry FLOOR n ALL - General Purpose Microfibre Blue Pad attached to the FLOOR n ALL Swivel Head Extension Mop. Lightly mist an area of the floor with the ready to use FLOOR n ALL - Floor & All Purpose Cleaner solution and wipe over with the damp heavy duty FLOOR n ALL Microfibre Mop - Green and White Striped Pad, attached to the FLOOR n ALL Swivel Head Extension Mop. Wipe up spills and leaks promptly with a dry FLOOR n ALL Microfibre Cloth or dry paper towel. For sticky substances, moisten the cloth slightly. Over wetting a floor when mopping or cleaning can change the moisture balance in the floor and cause a floor to expand, with some resulting in cupping. For this reason, it is important to ensure that mops and cloths are well wrung so that as little water solution as possible wets the floor. Never clean a floor with common household detergents, polishes, steel wool pads, wax or similar products. ONGOING CARE & MAINTENANCE It is only natural that bamboo and hardwood timber floors will show signs of wear over time. You can however protect your floor by following a few simple guidelines: Use interior and exterior doormats at all entrances to collect dirt and moisture and prevent it from being tracked onto the floor. Sweep or vacuum regularly to rid the floor of dust and grit that can scratch the finish. Remove shoes with spiked or damaged heels before walking on the floor to prevent scratches and dents. Keep pets claws trimmed, paws clean and free of dirt or soil. Always apply felt pads under any furniture or chair legs to prevent scratches and to ease movement. Keep pads clean at all times and regularly check and replace as necessary. Protect the floor when moving heavy furniture or large appliances. Use non-slip rugs in high wear areas, i.e. in heavily travelled spots and pivot points such as room entries and stair landings. Spills and tracked-in dirt should be wiped up immediately. For spot cleaning, apply FLOOR n ALL - Floor & All Purpose Cleaner onto a clean FLOOR n ALL Microfiber Cloth and rub into the spot. Protect your floor from direct sunlight. Use curtains and UV resistant film on large glass doors and windows. Colour shade variation can occur if the floor is exposed to direct sunlight. A FLOOR n ALL - Swivel-head mop with microfiber pads is also highly recommended to eliminate finer particles of grit and dirt that can act like sandpaper on hardwood floors. Area rugs are recommended in front of kitchen sinks, at all pivot points and within high traffic areas. Do not use rugs with solid rubber or vinyl backings. The rugs must be made of a breathable material to prevent moisture entrapment. Never use any of the following products (or products similar in nature) on your floor: Ammonia-based cleaners, acrylic finishes, wax-based products, bleach, polishes, oil soap, abrasive cleaning soaps, or acidic materials. Many of these products pit or etch the finish of your flooring or prevent the proper use of recommended maintenance materials. The use of a steam mop is not recommended on any bamboo or hardwood timber floor. Keep the relative humidity in your home between 35% & 55%.
QUICK FIX TIPS Spots caused by food, water or animals Apply FLOOR n ALL - Floor & All Purpose Cleaner to a clean soft cloth. Rub the area to remove the stain or spot. More stubborn spots may require additional cleaning. Grease/Lipstick/Crayon/Ink Spots/Rubber Heel Marks Apply FLOOR n ALL - Floor & All Purpose Cleaner to a clean soft cloth. Rub the area to remove the stain or spot. Chewing Gum, Candle Wax Apply a sealed plastic bag filled with ice on the deposit. Wait until deposit becomes brittle enough to crumble off. After deposit has been removed, clean entire area with FLOOR n ALL - Floor & All Purpose Cleaner. Minor Abrasions/Scratches Use FLOOR n ALL - Scratch Cover to cover minor surface scratches and abrasions. Deep Scratches/Gouges Use FLOOR n ALL Bees Wax Filler Sticks to repair cracks and small holes in most bamboo and hardwood timber surfaces. Available in a range of colours - pale brown, orange/brown, mid brown, red/brown, dark brown or black.
