Aerovent History Over 75 Years of Growth A brief history of Aerovent includes: the first Aerovent fan manufactured in 1926 by Piqua Electric Manufacturing Co., the development of the Macheta airfoil blade and involvement in forming the Propeller Fan Manufacturer s Association (PFMA) later merging with the NAFM which is now known as AMCA, Aerovent s expansion in the late 60 s and early 70 s with the advent of air make-up equipment, and its entry into the centrifugal fan field in the mid-70 s. Today, Aerovent has become a name synonymous with quality air handling equipment for all phases of industry. Our products are sold by over 400 sales representatives in 80 offices throughout the world. Primary Business Aerovent builds a wide variety of equipment from propellers to complete Air Make-Up systems but our primary business is the manufacture of heavy duty industrial propeller fans. We are one of the fastest growing manufacturers of industrial air moving equipment in the country. We believe this is due to an unbeatable combination of the fans we manufacture and the can do attitude of Aerovent people. Our products are top-of-the-line, tested, consistent, and reliable. Our people will deal with you directly and honestly. They are innovative, have technical expertise, and answers to your problems. Testing Lab Aerovent s headquarters in Minneapolis, Minnesota, contains a 10,000 square foot, state-of-the-art airflow and acoustics testing facility is used for quality assurance and research and development. It is maintained as an AMCA Registered Laboratory and specializes in testing Axial Fans, Mixed Flow Fans, and Centrifugal Fans and Blowers. All fans can be tested on either the fan s inlet or outlet. Photo 1928: Piqua Electric Manufacturing Co. has Aerovent Ring Fans ready for delivery. Manufacturing Capability Aerovent s primary manufacturing site sprawls over 145,000 square feet in Aberdeen, South Dakota. We also have sites in Mitchell, Elkton and Brookings, South Dakota, as well as Vandalia, Ohio. Our facilities utilize Aerovent s state-of-the-art equipment and innovative manufacturing processes but it is the people who work here their skill, their knowledge, and their commitment to build the best fans in the world who make Aerovent a leader in the industry. Fan Selector Program Aerovent offers its new AMCA licensed, Windows -based Fan Selector Program on CD-ROM. Simply enter the required fan type and performance, and the program displays quick and accurate fan selection options that can be easily evaluated based on: fan type, size, class of construction, blade angle, percent of peak, RPM, BHP, outlet velocity, static efficiency, mechanical efficiency, sound power, sound pressure, LwA, and relative costs. Fan accessories can be quickly chosen from an electronic menu, and detailed reports can be printed such as performance data sheets, fan curves, and dimensional drawings. Fan Selector Standard Fan Curve (example) Ship-Out-of-Stock Program Aerovent s Ship-Out-of-Stock (S.O.S) program allows standard fans and accessories to be shipped within 48 hours. Our Ten Day Priority Shipment Program is available to provide built-to-order fans. See Bulletin S-30 or contact your Aerovent representative for information on fans available through these programs. A glass veil is standard for airstream surfaces providing a resin rich liner to maximize chemical resistance. Wheel diameters from 10" to 57", capacities to 38,300 CFM, pressures to 18" SP. Air Make-up Model RBF Fiberglass RadiaI Blade Fan Gas-Fired Air Make-Up Units Models GA, GAS, GACDW, GACSW Bulletin 864 Steam Air Make-Up Units Models S, SACSW, SACDW Bulletin 856 Complete air supply systems for the ultimate in safety and dependability. Packaged units available in propeller and centrifugal types. Available with forward curved, backward inclined, or airfoil blade. Capacities to 100,000 CFM, 10,000,000 Btu/hr, external pressures to 5" SP. Direct Digital Control: Available with Aerovent s Direct Digital Control System which allows you to remotely monitor and control your HVAC system from your PC. Door Air Heater Gas Door Air Heaters Models NDH, PDH Bulletin 896 Steam Distributing Tube Coil gives good temperature distribution, maximum freeze protection, and allows expansion of the tubes without transmitting stresses to the tubes. Propeller and centrifugal models available. Centrifugal unit available with backward curved or forward inclined airfoil blades. Units come assembled and include fan, coil, vacuum breaker and motorized shutter. Available options include remote operating station, outlet temperature control, directional discharge grille, air distributor, inlet hood, inlet hood less vanes, and inlet/discharge elbows. Capacities to 60,000 CFM and 343,000 to 5,000,000 Btu. Air Coolers Spray Type Air Cooler Model AC Bulletin 1103 Automatic direct-fired gas units provide instant, full heat when door opens; heat and fan shut off together when door closes. Compact, packaged construction, fully assembled. Designs for natural gas and propane; models available for horizontal, angular or vertical mounting. Outlet velocities to 3500 FPM, capacities to 6200 CFM, 990,000 Btu/hr with gas unit. High velocity, packaged unit is an efficient, simple and economical approach to spot or general cooling in highheat producing areas. Polypropylene nozzles, mounted in two opposite-spray banks, provide maximum saturation and heat transfer efficiency. High velocity eliminator. Available separately or with Aerovent air make-up. Capacities to 110,000 CFM, 3,848,000 Btu, outlet velocities to 1,520 FPM. Aerovent Bulletin G-99 11
