Procedure: Inspect surface and recommend surface preparation required. Apply Duron Primer / Sealer. Allow to cure for a minimum of 1 Hour. Apply Duron Basecoat. Add tint to Part B. Allow to cure for a minimum of 8 Hours. Broadcast Duron Decorative Seamless Flake while Basecoat Epoxy is still wet. Remove excess flake before preparing for the next application. Apply two coats of Duron s Polyurethane UV Stable Gloss. The Gloss will be touch-dry in 8 Hours and can be re-coated in 12 Hours. System Selection: Specification of Duron Decorative Seamless Flake System is a straight forward process. The customer is required to make only two decisions: colour and size of the flake. Duron Decorative Seamless Flake System is available in 95 colour blends. An existing colour blend could be selected from the Duron Colour Chart or a special colour combination can be specified from the Duron Single Flake Colour Chart. To obtain a Certified Slip Rated Floor to R10 the Duron Stone Grip Blend Range must be applied. This blend contains 30% stone. Certificates are available for Stone Grip Flake to meet the Australian Slip Ratings Standard. Care and Maintenance: One of the major benefits of the Duron Seamless Flake System is the ease of cleaning. Floors should not be buffed (as for vinyl flooring) or waxed. Apart from being unnecessary, wax build up will cause loss of gloss and possible discolouration. Emulsion cleaners / polishers (such as One Go ) are not necessary for the same reason. Daily Maintenance: To remove dirt and dust, sweep or dry vacuum the floor. Loss of gloss with the Duron Seamless Flooring System is the eventual result of heavy foot traffic and gritty contaminants, not foot traffic alone.
Weekly Maintenance: Sweep as above, followed by sponge mopping with warm clean water and dishwashing detergent. Mops are not recommended for use as they leave a dirty film over the surface. Sponge mops or stiff brooms and water or cleaning machines are recommended. Some contamination may need to be removed by regular machine scrubbing. As with sponge mopping, it is important to remove the excess water from the floor to ensure that dirt residues are a not deposited back onto the profile of the floor. Inspect the floor for stains which are not water-soluble. Only in extreme cases should steel wool or other aggressive methods be used, in which case you may have to contact your licensed applicator regarding selective reglazing. After a 5-10 5 year period the surface can be cleaned, lightly sanded and be recoated with a single coat of Duron Gloss Finish. Marks: Rubber products such as car tyres, mats etc, should be kept off the surface for one week. Cars should be parked on carpet squares if the floor is to be used during the weeks following application. To maintain the floor s pristine appearance it is recommended to continue to use u the carpet squares to prevent any deterioration of the floor s surface. Maintenance for Stone Grip Floors: As the abrasive surface makes the floor almost impossible to mop, the floor must be scrubbed with a stiff broom or be machine scrubbed. Use the mop to spread the detergent and water. Ordinary dishwashing detergent is best, cheap and readily available. Now scrub with a stiff broom or use a machine scrubber. Once scrubbed,, use a wet and dry vacuum cleaner to remove soiled waste. Flush with fresh water. If there is no access to drainage, use the wet and dry vacuum cleaner to remove the fresh water residue. The Slip Resistance Rating R10/12 applies on installation of the flooring system. Lack of regular cleaning in high traffic areas will cause the slip resistance to wear down. Regular inspections in high traffic areas should be conducted.
Avoid: Solvent based or chlorine based cleaners. Oil or petroleum based product spills. Excessive foliage or organic litter (may stain). Avoid washing your car on the finished floor or driveway, as car wash products contain waxes and other ingredients that may build up on the surface. Traffic on abrasive materials. Excessive dirt build-up. up. Trouble Shooting: Excessive dirt Deposit. - Clean dirt off (normal cleaning methods). Oil / petrol spills absorb spillage with absorbent material and treat with suitable degreaser. Rubber or tyre Marks use Tyre Mark Remover. Surface appears faded but is ok when wet If the surface darkens and appears more consistent then resealing may be required. Always reseal with the appropriate Duron sealer to suite your decorative flake surface and to only apply to a properly prepared and dry surface. White Patches Whitening may appear from time to time for various reasons. Under normal circumstances whitening is not a common occurrence but if it does happen contact your applicator. Cracks Unfortunately, when control joints are in place and precautions have been taken, your concrete could still crack. Most cracking is non structural and is best left alone, as repairs are often difficult and unsightly. These cracks are unrelated to the decorative surface and are due to the nature of concrete. Structural cracking is normally wider than 1.5mm and if necessary should be assessed by a Qualified Structural Engineer.
